I've seen Dr. Boden in 2018 for my knee pain and now in 2021 (twice so far) for my shoulder pain and neck pain. Every single time, I have left his office feeling totally satisfied with the consultation. Dr. Boden is always willing to listen to the patient’s questions and concerns and takes the time to answer and provide his guidance. This, of course, is in addition to his accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. Above all, he respects the patient as a person. He’s perfectly professional in his demeanor, yet you feel like you’re in the hands of someone who personally cares about your needs and well-being.

In the last 20 years Dr. Boden has replaced the ACL in each of my knees and repaired my rotator cuff in both my right and left shoulders. All four operations were a complete success and I have full function in every case. Dr. Boden has been thorough in assessing each situation and straightforward in explaining it. I trust him.

My experience was very helpful. Dr. Boden answered my questions and made me feel so much better about my condition. I had seen another doctor in frederick before going to Dr. Boden, and i was not at all satisfied. This was not my first experience with Dr. Boden in particular. He performed surgery on my daughters knee and she had a full recovery and hasn't had any problems since. I think what really made me know just how good he was, was when he came in he remembered me from 7 years ago when he performed ACL repair surgery on my daughter. I have also been seen by Dr. Berdia for a work related injury and they are 2 of the best doctors that i have the experience of getting a GREAT outcome when I went to them with my health needs. I have seen Dr. Boden for a frozen shoulder. He has been incredibly helpful. HIs diagnosis was spot on, he provided helpful advice about treatment options, and remained attentive during the period of my non surgical rehabilitation. I highly recommend Dr. Boden.

Dr. Boden was disinterested and inattentive when addressing my injury during the appt. I thought because he was a "sports medicine" orthopedic surgeon that he would have been concerned with my situation based on my sports background, big mistake. I practically had to beg him to actually physically evaluate my injury. I also got concerned when laying on the x-ray table and the tech shoved it with his hips to align me under the target area. To compound this, he did not have me remove my underwire bra, instead he had me hoist it up around my neck. Needless to say, an underwire bra is not meant to be anywhere near an x-ray. I became really worried when he aligned me for the standing x-ray. While my feet were planted on the ground, he pushed the top half of my body to one side to line me up with the cross-hairs, culminating in a contorted and misaligned x-ray. Please don't take my word, you be the judge. I know the difference between exceptional and mediocre care, and this was the latter.

Dr. Boden has taken wonderful care of my orthopedic needs for a number of years. Unlike some orthopedists who are quick to do major surgeries, Dr. Boden only does that when it is clear that there is no other choice. He clearly believes in participatory medicine as he has warmly discussed my conditions and my options with me throughout my orthopedic experiences. Both of my arthroscopic knee surgeries resulted in pain-free fully functional knees. He is also an incredible diagnostician and, when he found it necessary because of a knee condition which required a new procedure being performed by only a small number of orthopedists in the country, he immediately directed me to one. I am very grateful to Dr. Boden and would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone having orthopedic needs.

Dr. Boden was outstanding. My son tore his ACL in late July playing hoops, had the corrective surgery by Dr. Boden in August, and 5 months later he was well on his way to making a full recovery. Dr. Boden is an outstanding surgeon that works well with young athletes.

As far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't work with any other surgeon for a knee surgery other than Dr. Barry Boden. Dr. Boden was understanding, compassionate and receptive to my needs as his patient. His professionalism and positive outlook on my prognosis was comforting both during my initial diagnosis, on the day of surgery and in my aftercare. While I hope to never injure my knee again to the point where a full ACL reconstruction will be necessary, I know who to go in case I do.

After doing considerable research seeking out an orthopedic surgeon that I felt comfortable with in replacing my knee, I chose Dr. Boden. This was the best decision I could have made. The reason I chose Dr. Boden and his team was their reputation, their high level of successful outcomes, the teams experience with the TKA procedure, their choice of medical device (Depuy Synthes Sigma System) and level of expertise using this system. This is an extremely difficult surgery! I highly recommend!
