Dr. Baotran Vo, MD

My UCI doctors are great, and give great service, when you can get to them. You cannot get an appointment without having to wait AT LEAST three months and it is more likely five to six months with many of them. This is not good practice and needs to be changed. I would not recommend my doctors for that reason. Most people do not have to wait that long.

I've been seeing Dr. Vo for quite a while now, always the consummate professional, she takes great care of me. I would highly recommend her and your staff to anyone who might ask about my experiences there. Thank you to all! Cheers, [phi removed]

Apparently when I was checked in the system didn't notify my care provider. My provider's office thought I hadn't shown up for my appointment and called my 23 minutes after my appointment time to see where I was. I was in the waiting room. I guess I wish there was a better way for them to know who is there. A window, maybe?

always a pleasure

Dr. Vo made the procedure go seamlessly, which I really appreciated since I was really scared. She attended to the smallest needs, like helping with cramping, which helped ease the pain. She also helped calm my anxiety down. My previous experience with a gynecologist out of state was not so great, but this one turned it around, and for that, I'm very grateful.

The front desk person (didn't catch her name) checking me in was very pleasant and helpful. The nurse - {Staff name removed} - was enthusiastic and created a positive/efficient environment. Dr. Vo was great at communicating friendly and directly about the issues. Overall, very good first experience with the team.

Everything was great

I like going to UCI. They are organized, staff are friendly and helpful. Doctors are professional and knowledgeable and willing to discuss what's best for you, not just prescribe meds as others do. You have everything in one roof, lab, x-rays etc. And when you get referred to a specialist, they will call you at home to ask when you are you available to see the specialist. A+

Dr. Vo was very thorough in discussing my health and the plan moving forward.

Dr Vo just checked off boxes on the computer. She is not supportive or encouraging as a doctor on my Health journey.

I appreciated the efforts of both Dr. Vo and her nurse practitioner, Melissa, to schedule my appointment in a timely manner. Dr. Vo was very pleasant and professional in her examination and the information she provided me about the pros and cons of an older adult (without significant cardiovascular risks) taking daily low-dose aspirin was very helpful. Similarly, Melissa was very attentive when updating my records, responding to my questions, and taking my vital signs. For example, when I remarked that my blood pressure readings tended to be much higher in the doctor's office than at home, she encouraged me to relax through deep breathing exercises and then remeasured my blood pressure. The follow-up blood pressure readings were noticeably lower than her initial measurement and closer to what I typically observe at home. Similarly, Melissa took the time at the end of the visit to answer a question I had about MyChart and assisted me in accessing this information from the website. Overall, the visit with Dr. Vo was very helpful, and I particularly appreciated the assistance provided by her nurse practitioner, Melissa. Both of these individuals reflect well on the high standards of medical care and service practiced at UCI.

Dr. Vo has been very attentive. She answers my emails when I message through the portal. She gets me in right away when I need to be seen. She listens when I'm there. She doesn't rush the appointment. She gives me all the time I need, especially now when I'm going through some stuff and just gives me all the different options that I have. And I appreciate her never pressuring me into anything and just always being there to listen and being a great provider.

While my Dr. Vo and her assistants, as always, were "Above and Beyond", I can't give enough praise to them. The only downside, was a person on your frontline staff at check-in. Most of the time, it's pretty excellent, but when I came in early by mistake, the day before my appointment, the female who I checked in with, was pretty dismissive and rude in letting me know, a. First, she couldn't find my appointment, and b. Seemingly disturbed that she found my appointment, actually for the next day, immediately told me, "Your appointment is for tomorrow..." I'm in customer service, and teach teams about the same. Never in the years I've been going to see doctors at UCI, have I ever experienced that, just thought you should know. It doesn't get any better than my amazing care by Dr. Vo and her staff !!! I've been coming to UCI Health for 36 years !! It feels great to be able to trust a medical group with their kindness and knowledge!! I'm forever bragging about what I'm receiving !!!
