Extremely Disappointed With This Northwestern Dr.
Dr. Bakar was extremely unprofessional. Her comments were condescending, showing no empathy and no consideration for the patient, only for herself. She was extremely rude and arrogant, constantly interrupting when the patient was trying to talk. In order for a doctor to be good, the Dr has to be compassionate, understanding and have the skill of knowing how to listen. That is why the medical industry is an exceptional industry as intelligence is not the only skill needed. This doctor needs to be in an industry where she doesn’t communicate with people that are sick. The manner in which Dr. Bakar talked to her, put her in a hysterical state. Patients do not pay doctors to insult them. This should be a safe space. Our family sees a lot of wonderful Northwestern doctors. This is not one of them. Choose wisely. Unless this type of treatment is acceptable to you, I would not recommend her. She gives Northwestern a very bad name.

I was Dr. Bakar's patient for +/- 3 years. She was always pleasant & I considered her a cheerleader. However, I saw no improvements, which were a good part my fault. I saw no interest in emphasizing reasons why my health issues were serious. I have no degree in medicine, but I believe my prescribed insulin was wrong bc my numbers were high & low extremes. I gave up trying to get explanations. I was told she left the Kokomo practice in March 2017. If so, this file is outdated.

Dr. Bakar takes time to answer my questions and concerns. She wants what is best for me. Dr. Bakar encourages me to make better decisions to better my health. I highly recommend her! My sister and I both see her, we drive two hours because we can't find an endocrinologist in our area that cares the way she does.
