Very dismissive, horrible bedside manner. Prescribed me anti acid with a 30 second physical that was not thorough at all. He does not show concern for patients. I hope i never get him as my doctor at all ever again. My takeaway was that he hated me or had no real concern about me or my condition

Dr. Kinney was excellent.
My injury made me go to the ER. Dr Kinney took time with me to explain what tests were appropriate for my injury. He listened to my answers and was very responsive to my description of how my injury occurred. He ordered xrays, CT scan, and an EKG, all were exactly what was needed to determine the extent of my injury and proper follow-up.

Zero bedside manner but arrogance off the chart!
I’ve often heard the best doctors have the worst bedside manners. That doesn’t appear to be the case with Dr. Kinney. He was an indifferent, lousy, lazy, doctor with no bedside manner whatsoever. He was arrogant, rude, confrontational and didn’t listen at all. Scripps is usually top notch so I find myself wondering, how did they get stuck with this guy?

Unhappy patient – Aug 27, 2022

This doctor treated my 85 year old Mom in the Scripps Encinitas ER for cellulitis of the breast. She had breast implants that were from reconstruction after breast cancer. One of her implants was leaking! He discharged her and the next day she started turning septic. She had a pulmonologist appointment and he took one look at her and sent her immediately to Palomar ER. Sometime tonight she is having both implants removed. We could have lost her and it would have been because of Dr. Kinney’s poor decision making.

Horrible, arrogant and pompous. Beware: unless you are bleeding, have a broken limb or clearly are incapacitated or otherwise “presenting” at that moment, you are not of any concern.

This is an Emergency Room doctor. While others may have waited up to three hours, I was taken in right away. I liked the way he asked questions, answered mine, and got me through a long night.
