Missing in action
I've had a traumatic experience dealing with Durans team. I was put on medication multiple times by him and experienced side effects, without any way of getting into contact with him. He will never see a single message you put on the portal. One of his 'nurses' will reach back out at some point, but with limited knowledge on the situation they generally tell you to go to the emergency room. Even that, doesn't guarantee you see him. I spent 5 days at ORMC and only saw members from his team. If you value consistent communication with your Dr., I suggest going elsewhere.

Ignored
Sent to Duran & completed all requested tests & second opinion per requests. He ignored and wrote off concerns through the process. Continuously pushed for a med that I had a sever reaction to. Approved a pace maker, but I had to contact hospital admin after 3 months of his team not returning any messages or scheduling it. Post procedure, created plan for medicine & a back up if it failed. When it failed, office had no notes of a back up & refused any changes w/o an appt. MyChart showed he made no notations, but also had been posting inaccurate information for every appt. Waited 3 months for an appointment to go over meds again just to show up & be told the appointment was cancelled w/o notice or reason and I could reschedule for 3 months later. Never had a doctor and care team that cared so little. Switched to Advent, who listened & got meds straightened out in a single visit. Got me feeling well enough to drop 60lbs in 9 months, run multiple 5k, etc.

Sent my blind mother to rehab with a smart phone-based cardiac event monitor that requires her to be able to view a screen and select the type of symptoms she is having. No discussion of the types of event monitors beyond the hard-sell of the implantable device.

Amazing doctor. Excellent bedside manners.
Amazing. This doctor is very professional and he dedicates enough time to his patients. He listens! I had surgery with him because of AFIB and have not enough words to thank him. He is professional, knowledgeable, friendly. I can only be grateful to him because of what he has done for me. I have an implant and a few months ago he called himself to discuss what was right and wrong. He is amazing! God bless him always !!!

Unprofessional doctor
This is the most unprofessional doctor I have ever met, I have been waiting for almost 4 months for this appointment and he sent one of his assistant to call me the same day of the appointment to cancel it because I need to see the doctor that saw me once when I was admitted to the hospital. I don’t even know which doctor was this. Now I am with a cardiac condition and I need to restart the process. Please don’t waste your time.

I first saw Dr. Duran in 2009. He diagnosed a reentry loop in my pacemaker and skillfully re-set it to get it back “in synch.”when it came time to get my 2nd pacemaker in 2012 I specifically requested Dr. Duran. And once again with his skill and expertise (along with his amazing surgical prep and post teams…I was prepped and ready when he came in the OR…he popped my old unit out, put the new one in, checked the leads and wires to make sure they were working properly, ran a diagnostic on it, and let his “closing” crew finish up. I’m now coming due for a 3rd pacemaker. I’m definitely going to Dr. Duran to have it done. For a very busy doctor, he still has a great bedside manner, and takes his time with you. Everyone on his team was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and proficient in their assigned duties.

I had a pacemaker defibrillator placed in 2014 and have never had a problem. I am now due for a battery replacement and the Dr at the VA Annarbor, Michigan is waiting on corespondents from Orlando Regional Medical Center response to a third lead that has to be replaced. Dr Doran is an excellent Cardiologist and if I was still in Florida I would return to him. I have spent my entire career in the Medical Field and I would have to say Dr Doran is the best Cardiologist I have ever met.

After research I chose Dr Duran on just his credentials. I have seen hundreds of doctors in my 59 years and Dr Duran has the best bed side manor of any. He actually cares, listens and ask and answers questions. Dr.Durans team is excellent and I feel I couldn’t have found a better doctor or team. I was an Ablation patient of Dr.Duran.
