Best doctor. Love her. Very kind

Family and I have coming here for 14 years and always happy with her. She listens and is patient and always willing to do the best job to help me and my family.

Unfriendly, rude, arrogant woman who hates children. She doesn’t listen to her patients and certainly acts like she doesn’t care.

Dr. Black is wonderful!! I’ve been seeing her for a few years now, and she truly has helped me immensely. We have been able to sort out my medications and figure out what works for me and what doesn’t. She always makes sure my dose is right for me, and makes sure I have enough of my meds/ refills before my next visit with her. I feel super comfortable in her care, cannot thank her enough!

Dr. Black went on vacation when my prescription was about to expire and did not renew it. She won't answer phone calls when out of town and I was without medication for four days. She continually blamed the pharmacist who bent over to help me. Then Dr. Black gave called in a script for an entire year (negligent, meds are often adjusted over time) and did not return any of my phone calls. She talked about herself during our visits, once asked me if I thought her shirt was appropriate for work - she stood up and turned around and asked me if it covered her butt. I've been in mental health care for 30 years, she's the worst psychiatrist I've ever had.

I have worked with Dr. Black for years and highly recommend her. She is very compassionate and has helped me through some difficult times. We have found a treatment that works and I owe her my health and well-being.

I understand Dr. Black is a psychiatrist, not a therapist. That being said, it's still part of her job to listen to her patients. Personally it seemed like she never even made an effort to know me as an individual. Instead, she often forgot my name+location, jumped to conclusions about my circumstances/emotions, or talked about herself, which would always make me feel unimportant. However, the most upsetting thing is how she is essentially unreachable sometimes... Why is there not an email that we can contact as patients? Overall I feel very disappointed by my experience with her.

I visited Dr. Black 4 years after having my daughter because I knew I was not the same person mentally and emotionally that I was before. I was terrified talking to a doctor about my mental state, thinking they would judge me and think I am someone looking for pills. That was not the case with Dr. Black. She listened to me spill my guts out and crying like a baby. We discussed different options besides medication. She advised that I try a very low dose of medication to see if that would help. She even suggested that we try this and if not we will find other methods (non medication) to help me. I never felt judged and I truly appreciate that. Like I said, it took me 4 years to talk to my doctor about my mental state. I highly recommend Dr. Black. If it was not for my insurance I would still see Dr. Black.

I’ve seen Dr. Black for many years now, and she has truly been a blessing to my life. Through the power of prayer and her amazing God-given wisdom, I am walking out healing daily!

I absolutely love Dr. Black. Dr. Black has watched me grow up through hard times and she always helps me through- tweaking meds if needed to find the perfect fit for my needs. I can contact her and trust that she will return my call. She doesn’t judge a soul & She doesn’t just write prescriptions and say good bye, she takes the time and works with the patient to best suit their needs. One of the main reasons I have actually stayed put in Memphis.

Dr. Black has always been professional and endearing. She took a genuine interest in helping me be proactive with my mental health, which I truly appreciate. She is very motivated to assist her patients in a timely fashion, and I admired her consideration for patients with little ones by providing a small table and puzzles in her office. She is orderly, professional, and offers later hours than most doctors in this field. She considers her patients time, and that says a lot.

I have been seeing Dr. Black for almost 10 years, on a very regular basis. She is very patient and works through your problems with you to make sure you are getting not only the best treatment, but the right treatment for you - since everyone is different. She is very accommodating when it comes to me asking for additional appointments outside of our normally scheduled ones, and works hard to fit me in. She also responds same day to any voice mails (unless I call late in the day, then I get a return call the next day). Would highly recommend, she does care about her patients and wants them to have the best care possible.

Dr Black has been my doctor for years. I would highly recommend her to anyone. Any time I’ve had a problem with insurance she has responded quickly. I have never waited more than 15 minutes at my appointments. She is a very easy to talk to and I trust her completely.

The first appointment I had, I told her I was depressed. She asked if I was abused as a child. I said no. She asked if my husband abused me. I said no. Then she responded, "well, I don't see any reason for you to be depressed then." She then spent the rest of the appointment talking about herself. The final straw was when I told her about my father in law taking his own life a few weeks ago after being diagnosed with bipolar 6 months ago, and she told me she was surprised he waited so long to do it if he was diagnosed 6 months ago. So I told her that things at his job had fallen apart, and his wife had separated from him for her own safety, and she said something to the effect of "oh, I don't feel sorry for him since he wasn't always good to his wife." I will not be returning to her.

Since I have been with her for about 3 years, she has done nothing but talk about her family. During my appt today she made my mother and I wait in her office while she dealt with another patients file. She made me go into detail about my abandoment with my mom and it is very rude! NOT TO MENTION she did not once say anything nice or anything! I will never go back to her! ??

Dr. Black is a fantastic Psychiatrist! She is very kind and professional, and she genuinely cares about the well-being of her patients. Her office is very neat and comfortable. Scheduling appointments is easy, and she has always returned my phone calls within 1 “business” day. Most importantly, I’ve never had to wait more than 10 minutes in the waiting room, and that is NOT common for most doctors’ offices in my experience. Definitely recommend!!

Dr Black Is An Awesome Psychiatrist. She takes time and listens to what's going on with you & then interact with you. Dr Black makes a great effort to help get the situation resolved. I would recommend her to others. She's A Great doctor.

Dr. Black is a great psychiatrist and is very professional. I think very highly of her and respect her opinions as she respects mine. I have been her patient consistently for the last five years. She has listened and worked with me to find the proper medication that has helped me tremendously. She monitors my blood work to make sure my blood levels are in the safe range. I would highly recommend her to anyone, especially my family and friends!

Dr. Black is a very knowledgeable, thoughtful and personable physician. I highly recommend her.
