Quiet, and does a great job
Although Dr. Kamath doesn't usually communicate directly outside an appointment, he does have a good group of staff to answer any questions. Had a PKR, and was unusually nervous because of watching videos (don't do it.) The surgery went very well. Got there at 6:30am, out by 12:30pm the same day. And walked to the car because I had no pain for like the first 36 hours. So far, everyone seems amazed as to how quickly the recovery has been.If I ever have another need for a surgery, I know who I'm calling.

Knee replacement by unqualified dr.
I had a total knee replacement by atul kamath on February 17th 2020. It has been 1 year my knee is worse than ever.I have had the worst medical care I've ever had in my life from aftercare to physical therapy to follow up appointments, I could not even get pain killers prescribed without a fight by his assistant. Dr. Kamath could care less about this, he refuses to talk on the phone or see me, he puts it off on his assistant who knows absolutely nothing. This should be a 3 month recovery at most, I am 1 year out with no sign of ever being normal. Anyone considering a surgeon for a knee replacement should steer as far away from this so called dr. as possible or prepare to be crippled by him!

I had Total hip replacement on both sides. Dr. Kamath was a God send. I am currently 10 and 4 weeks post Op and am getting my life back after a list of surgeons refused to help me because I wasn't old enough. I. Forever grateful to him and his staff to actually take the time to get x-rays and help me.

Arrogant, insecure, and self serving. Could not even have bothered to answer any of my questions. Appointment had nothing to do with me and it was all about whether my case would improve his stats. Here’s a stat for you - one star. I’ve worked in medicine for over 30 years and he is the worst of the worst. Nice to you if you can make him look good otherwise he doesn’t have the time of day. Waited 2 months to see him and get questions answered and now another 6 weeks to see another doctor.

Dr. Kamath listens and is dedicated to finding the root cause of your issue. He reviews previous tests to re-evaluate possible issues and diagnose problems. After almost 18 months with another Penn doctor, he was a life saver in recognizing the issue and resolving the problem. A huge blessing!

Outstanding doctor and surgeon. He took a personal interest in me as an individual! He spent a tremendous amount of time before surgery in the office, during my hospital stay, and in the recovery period. I can't be happier at this time.

You have faith and trust in his procedural recommendation. He visits you every day while you're in the hospital. You start feeling better within a couple of days and you then know that it was all worth it. He also has a great staff that is a joy to work with.
