I am 5+ years COPD with Emphysema, on oxygen 24/7 for many years. Visited the ER a few days ago (Saturday), got a diagnosis of Influenza A and my discharge papers show my oxygen levels as being stellar on ‘Room Air.’ I was on 4 liters of oxygen. First time in the ER in 7 years I didn’t get a breathing treatment. He gave me a flu pill that only works in the first 48 hours, yet I was 6 days into it. I’m not impressed and you need to be aware of medical procedures before you let him take care of you. Had to get my GP to give me meds on Monday. I’m 85 and took an ambulance to the ER. Shameful. (So you know, this was written by my daughter who is taking better care of me than the Doc Morin did. What makes daughter mad is that I have to go to St. Rose to file an amendment. Like I said, I took an ambulance to the ER because of my age and condition. Do they think I should take an ambulance to the hospital to fill out an amendment, too? And It’s solely up to the Doc to make the decision.)
