Zero Ethics, Zero Professionalism. RUN!
My loved one and I gathered all the necessary documents requested from Dr. Patel’s office and showed up on time, just to be told by this poor excuse of a physician that he quit coming to my hometown because the residents are stupid. The medical providers are idiots, and he didn’t want to waste his time. He asked us why we were there, and we explained, because we were referred to you by our physician due to specific symptoms of a progressing health issue. He said, “Have you researched your condition to find out what caused it?” “First off, we know what causes this condition but have come to you hoping to get some recommendations for treatment options.” I could not believe what came out of his mouth. This man had the audacity, and I quote, “Look man, I am just here for the money. We are all here for the money. Your doctors in Ridgecrest are in it for the money, that is why we do this, it’s not because we care about you. Nobody cares about you. I don’t care about you. Your FAT!

Bad mood doctor
The doctor was in a bad mood and decided he wouldn’t talk to me because I told him I was going on vacation so needed an urgent refill. The doctor said that he doesn’t like the pressure and that if I wanted something fast, go somewhere else.

Excellent doctor
I recently switched health insurance coverage to an HMO so the one thing I will miss with this change are my visits with Dr. Patel. He and his staff always treated me with kindness and respect and listened/responded appropriately to any concerns I had while also being straight-forward about what was needed on my part to improve my health over the past two or three years. Dr. Patel was also very intuitive - at one point looking at lab results, medication changes, and clinical presentation and challenging 'what's really going on right now?' His perception was spot on accurate! Once answered, he offered great advice and words of encouragement and for that, I will always be grateful! He is one of the best doctors I have had in a long time, so thank you!!

He'll tell you what you need to hear
Nothing but positive experiences with this guy, first day he was firm with what I needed to do to get better, and since then I've stuck with those instructions and every subsequent appointment has me feeling more hopeful about managing my type 2 diabetes. Amazing how things go when you listen to your doctor.Never found myself waiting long for appointments either and the rest of the staff has been nothing but nice toward me

Terrible, outdated doctor
First of all, it’s cash or check. Which is beyond outdated and fishy. They had me LEAVE the office to go get cash because I forgot about this dumb policy. Second, his advice is outdated. Telling a t1d to “stop eating” to manage blood sugars better is lazy. Takes no time to actually care for patient and their specific needs. He’s rude and told me to find a new doctor because “if I can’t care for myself why should he care for me” well, maybe because you’re my doctor and you took an OATH to help no matter what. In my 26 years of being type 1 I’ve never experienced such a terrible doctor. Please don’t waste your time. Wait times are about 2 hours too. Ridiculous.

Not a way to run a business
i had an appt with Dr Patel which was re-schedule twice, appt time was for 9:30 am it is 1:40 and still waiting for a phone call. I called an hour after such appt asking if i was still schedule for the call they said yes and the dr was calling within the hour, well still waiting. What type of business run this way??? and what type of work ethics are these?? Needless to say how disappointed and frustrating i am, definitely looking for a new specialist how threat me with respect and care. Customer be ware of what you getting.

Dr. Patel has a tender ego & responded to a question I had as if I was questioning his standing as a specialist. It was unprofessional of him & I had driven 140 miles round trip in high winds to see him.

Dr. Patel and his Side Kick Doctor have terrible bedside manners. Dr. Patel dropped "F" bombs in my first visit in our conversation. His Side Kick Doctor uses the words "jesus christ" in his conversations, which I don't approve of being a Christian believer. 1 visit with Dr. Patel and 2 with his Side Kick Doctor was enough for me. The staff also can't get information straight amongst each other before and during your visit. Barely rate 2 stars from me.

Disappointed Patient – Jul 14, 2020

I have been going to him for many years now and he will tell you just like it is...that is what a doctor should do. Today so many people want you to sugar coat it and then blame him because treatment did not work when they did not follow what he said. His office staff are among the best around always friendly and smiling just want you want to see looking back at you. Most people do not like going to any doctor office so having a friendly staff makes it easier. If you are one of the people that fell you can cheat and not follow his directions and want someone to baby you then he is not the guy for you...but if you want a doctor that will tell you straight up you are messing up and you are willing to follow his instructions then he and his office are the place for you...

Dr. Patel and his staff are Amazing. You either Love him or you don't. He doesn't sugar coat Anything for you and will call you out, for Not doing what he tells you to do. The Antelope Valley is Truly Blessed to have him. I am so Thankful to be his patient. I would much rather have a doctor that is REAL with me and let me know that if I don't follow his instructions that nothing is ever going to get better. So many doctors could careless about their patients but that is NOT Dr. Patel. This man will go to the end of the earth to help you get better and control whatever medical condition that you have. Thank You Dr. Patel for Loving your patients like you do. You are a Blessing

Dr. Patel is unprofessional and rude. He appears to enjoy belittling his patients in front of his staff. Most of his staff is cold and uncaring. If you respect yourself don't go to him. I'm willing to drive to santa Clarita for a better doctor. Besides I'm doing better on my own. I bought a blood sugar monitor which is very cheap from Betty Mills online and in a few month my blood sugar is fine after making some changes in my diet and discovering what raises my blood sugar.

Run don't walk away from this doctor. He has no bedside manner. Very rude and threatening. If you are perfect and do everything exactly as he wants, he is a sweetheart. Who is perfect? Staff is nice. They only accept cash and checks for copays. Dr. Patel is the only Endocrinologlst in the A.V. so only choice is to go down below for care.

Dr. Patel is very intelligent, frank and dedicated to guiding his patients to better health. He was the only doctor to speak honestly, frankly, and with detailed information about my diabetes. He guided me as I followed his instructions and lost 94 pounds in a little over 10 months. I was able to get my diabetes under control and my A1C number to 5.7 in less than two years. As far as I'm concerned, I truly believe Dr. Patel saved my life and restored my health!

If you desire a Physician who will tell you what you want to hear and coddle you, this may not be the place for you. He does care deeply though and will tell you what you need to hear to manage your health effectively. Highly recommended.
