She pushes meds instead of even trying to discern the root cause of an illness or condition. If you are not comfortable taking a med she wants you to take, forget it because she won’t take no for an answer. The medical assistant also acts as the receptionist (or vice versa?) Also, they will not collect your co-pay even if you try to pay it. The receptionist-MA told me “oh, we just bill the insurance and see what they pay, then send you a bill for the balance”. Very odd… and in the paperwork they have you sign before your first visit, you have to give a credit card number to “keep on file” “as hotels do”, I guess for balance billing, but I got a bill in the mail a month after my visit. Finally, the patient portal “Healow” it awful, outdated and looks like it was made in the early 2000s.

I had a great experience with Dr. Tota-Maharaj while she was still in Orlando. I was really excited to find a PCP that I liked as I hadn't had one in a while. I was disappointed to hear that she left the practice here in Orlando and would love to know where she's practicing now because I'd love to continue having her as my doc.

Dr. Tota-Maharaj is the best primary care doctor I have ever had! She is extremely knowledgeable, cares about my overall wellbeing, and is always upfront about her expectations for treatment. My appointment did not feel rushed, and she took the proper time to listen to any concerns that I had. It is so comforting knowing that your doctor cares, and she definitely does. I always feel safe and confident in everything she says. I highly recommend Dr. Tota-Maharaj!

Pleasant demeanor, helpful in regards to solving the problem

Dr. Asha is here now in Summerfield, FL. Both of us have switched to her and are just thrilled with the care we receive from her. First of all, the office staff is polite, funny, courteous, professional, and responds to any requests on time. The wait time is short. All of our issues have been addressed promptly. Dr. Asha shows a true interest in her patients rather than a superficial attitude. We are pleased to be starting a long term relationship with this outstanding team.
