Great Experience
I have suffered with debilitating back pain for years. I tried shots, physical therapy, nerve blocks, and ablations. I tried all of these multiple times. In 10 minutes Dr Kavala diagnosed what was wrong. The other Dr’s had been treating the wrong place. I was scheduled inside a week and now my pain is very manageable and the pain is continuing to recede. What a relief!Highly Recommend

Dr. Kalava and his staff are awesome and I am glad that I found them. I suffer from long COVID and received a stellate ganglion block which has improved my loss of smell and taste. They explained the procedure, side effects, and limitations. Dr.Kalava was on time, efficient, and very professional. I am experiencing great success, whereas others have provided no hope Dr. Kalava was willing to listen and provide what I needed. Dr. Kalava and his team are outstanding.

One in a Million!
For six years I suffered episodic, likely MS related, burning stabbing pounding dagger-like pain, level 9-10 on the pain scale. Several specialists told me it was something I’d have to live with. I had all but given up, my pain was most likely from the pudental nerve, and basically untreatable. On my very first visit, Dr Kalava diagnosed the correct nerve and gave me a local block, that completely eliminated my pain for several hours! A first! We couldn’t find anything that lasted longer than 48 hours. After a five hour episode of level 10 pain landed me in the ER on a Thursday, he saw me on Friday, set me up with a unique indwelling abdominal catheter that delivered ropivicaine directly to the nerve and then got an incredibly busy surgeon to schedule nerve resection on Tuesday!. He’s always gone the extra mile and never gave up on me. I call Dr Kalava my own personal miracle worker. I wish all doctors were as dedicated as he is to solving the problem!

Couldn't Ask For A Better Doctor
Not only is Dr Kalava a world class doctor, he knows what he is doing and is willing to do absolutely anything to help his patients get better. My case is a very difficult case but he has been willing to take on the challenge to help relieve my pain. I cannot recommend a better doctor! He is amazing and I thank God that he has a sense of humor.

Great experience!
I had a telehealth video call for intro and diagnostic of my medical situation. Both went very well. My procedure was quickly scheduled and completed. I am very satisfied with the totality of experience. I highly recommend Dr Kalava!

Dr K was very reassuring about the SGB and the infusion. At all times, Dr. K called me personally to check on me, and remind me of next appt. Dr. K was kind, friendly, supportive and monitored me during all procedures. I always felt safe and comfortable. Office was VERY CLEAN, Christine (his assistant) was super! She’s very thorough and just as kind. The fear I had was overcome with compassion and understanding and that’s why I forged forward. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dr.K and I would certainly go back if I need to, and recommend this treatment for depression.

Incredible pain relief
I had foot surgery back on December 3, 2021, and after the surgery had nerve damage that caused terrible nerve pain and numbness to my foot. Pre-surgery I walked 7 miles a day, but after the surgery I could not walk even a 1/4 mile without excruciating pain. At the gym I would try to get on the treadmill but lasted less than 5 minutes and that was just walking with no running. I went to see Dr. Kalava on May 17, 2022 and got a nerve block. That same afternoon I walked 2 miles and felt like I could have done at least twice as much. Today, which is the second day I walked another 2 miles and also mowed the lawn. I have not been able to do that for over 5 months. If you are in pain, go see Dr. Kalava; you will not be sorry.

Great Doctor
Dr. Kalava is patient, listens well, knows his specialty. I was referred by my vascular surgeon to treat a very specific issue and after years of being bounced around specialists and doctors; Dr. Kalava worked directly with my surgeon to provide a non surgical procedure that has provided relief in my neck, shoulder, and arm. He is respectful, yet direct, he wants to make sure you understand what is going to happen.

Dr and staff are very friendly and helpful. Treatment was painless and worked great for almost 48 hours. Pray that my pain free time gets extended by future visits as it's nice to walk again. On the downside, the office is downtown without it's own parking. Unable to walk my wife had to push me across the garage to the elevators, down the street. The opposite side of the street had no handicap access resulting in me having to grab hold of parking meter while my wife lifted the wheel chair over the curb. To get into the office, my wife had to push me up a two level ramp. Hopefully the treatments work, so I can walk again and help the wife around the house again to show my thanks for all she is doing.

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone! I took my mother for her appointment as she has has been in severe pain due and was in shock with the dismissive and lack of compassion he showed her. Instead of saying he could not help her or giving her another referral to someone who could help her he left her more hopeless than she originally was.

I've been to a handful of Central Florida "pain management" offices but Dr. Kavala's practice is a very special place indeed. You'll know you're in an entirely different setting than you're used to from the moment you walk through the door. Everything is open, inviting, and even a bit luxurious. Dr. Kavala trained at the Mayo Clinic and offers a range of treatment options many others do not. He takes his time making a diagnosis and was willing to treat on the first visit. I'm confident he can help find and "fix" the source of my pain. Excellent, excellent practice.

I had given up having been told by several hospitals that they could not help me or provide me with an appointment to address my genetic connective tissue disorder. I have suffered from an incredible amount of pain and have been unable to find any treatment or doctor in my area after years of searching and being turned away I had given up. I was not depressed as I understood and had a situation that would cause anyone to feel the way I did but after being contacted by Mayo in Jax after two years of waiting to only be told they didn't foresee having any upcoming appointments I cried and truly gave up. When I told me friend who also has Ehler Danlos Syndrome she told me about Dr. Kalava. I have found my obi one and I am still in shock that he is going to be able to help me when so many had told me there was nothing they could do to help my pain. Because of my mast cell activation syndrome I am allergic to almost every medication and was not looking for opiates but getting my life back.
