A real pediatrician
I moved last year to Palm Desert from Orange County and I am very impressed by this pediatrician; besides OC, I have lived also in LA, and it is very difficult to find an office where you actually see the same doctor every time or at times you don't even see A doctor at all; and I think it is fair to recognize the value of having a real pediatric specialist for my children -it makes a big difference trust me-, and Dr. Quintanilla is definitely an experienced pediatrician who knows his stuff. I will keep coming back. I highly recommend this doctor.

Skill over personality
I agree, he can be grumpy, but he is a good doctor, no question; I haven't read anything wrong about his skill and competency, it's all about his personality; my oldest is now 17 and he's been my pediatrician since 2005, and always spot on diagnosing and treating, in fact we now hug and laugh every time we come in; for sure he's not perfect, but I have no reservations recommending him.

My kids have been with Dr. Quintanilla since birth, he even did both my boys circumcisions and I have to say he is great. He has always addressed my concerns in a professional way and my kids love him. Thank you Dr. Quintanilla for taking care of the boys.

My doctor, the problem solver
I don't know, he's never been rude, impatient or curt with my family, truth be told we are ALL like that sometimes...And who trusts "anonymous" reviews anyway ? Not me. All I can say is that I am a single parent dad raising 3 kids and Dr. Quintanilla has been my pediatrician going on 9 years now because he is competent, experienced, straight talking and a problem solver; if your kid is sick and you're looking for a warm, fuzzy, sweet talking person then this guy is NOT your doctor; but if your kid is sick and you're looking for a skilled problem solver then this guy IS your doctor; and I'll end by saying to all you moms and dads out there, read this first and THINK before you make your appointment with this guy. Honestly !

My kids Dr NOT their therapist
I don’t like writing reviews, it’s so unfair and so unjustified to so many businesses. I’m only writing this to clear what I see is wrong- Dr Quintanilla is direct and doesn’t sugarcoat things. Everyone complains about his attitude not his skill or ability to treat their children So people don’t like that but my husband and I do and we appreciate his competence and great staff. We want a dr who treats our kids not a dr who is my therapist.

This physician is very rude, cold, and uncompassionate. No professionalism. He rushes and does not care about the patient’s concerns. He clearly has no patience on children so I don’t know why he became a pediatrician. The worst physician I encountered so far.

Curt, rude, impatient doctor
Every time I take my kids to this doctor he is extremely impatient, curt, and down right rude with me, and my children. Overall, my kids are well behaved because I don’t tolerate any funny business, but the doctor was so rude and impatient with them that my child even commented on how rude he was when he left the room. He acts annoyed when you ask questions and gets irritated when kids don’t move as fast has he would like to speed the exam along. Well, guess what doc…they are kids! That’s what kids do…they don’t always move as fast as we would like. Maybe pediatrics is not the best practice for this doctor. I’m tired of this treatment, and while my kids have been going to this doctor for years, I will be changing their doctor as a result of the most recent visit.

Excellent Doctor
He has been my kids doctor since 2015. I think the service has improved. I never have had a problem with the doctor. His very knowledgeable, he does a very good job at diagnosis. Since covid my family have been sick several times. We have had colds, flu, throat infections. We haven’t had covid yet. Thank god. But he has seen my kids often. Even tho it’s over the phone in zoom. He still takes his time. The medications always works. Thank you Dr. Arturo Q.

I would do 0 if possible. I have now 9 month old twins that were born at 28 weeks. He last saw the babies at their 4 month appt. I inquired about the RSV shot and it was “submitted” 10/15/2020 and I checked back several times and his staff always had some excuse as to the reason it was taking so long. They should’ve submitted it before I even asked and the shot should’ve started in November. It’s now December and I had to switch drs because of the lack of care. Come to find out there was never a referral put in for the RSV. Completely inadequate doctors office and he’s really rude and has bad bedside manners.

Not reliable : We were very disappointed when we visited Dr. Arturo's office today for an annual physical. After checked in, his staff placed us in a room and checked temperature and blood pressure, then she went out and came back later. She told us that you are done today, Doctor doesn't need to see you. I was surprised and asked why? She said everything I checked is nomal. I said: the doctor has not performed any exam for this annual physical yet, I need talk to him. She went out and came back telling us that doctor had an emergency case now and come back one hour (11am) later if you want to see him. I said OK. More disappointed to me they called us later that Dr. Arturo will use facetime to see us at 11am. At 11:48am, Dr. Arturo called us on FaceTime and asked me how he can help us. I told him we had an appointment with you today for my 8 yrs daughter's annual physical. He replied that we don't do physical exam on kids under 11 yrs. I asked: why did you make this appointment?

I’ve been seeing this doctor since my son was born in 2017. He always seems grumpy but I never had any issues until this last visit I had today. My 2 year lol me son had a fall back in December and had to get stitches in his cheek so he’s a bit traumatized by doctors. My son of course screamed and cried during his check up and the doctor seemed annoyed and kept asking me why he was like this as if my son had a problem. My son is also starting to slowly start talking but not forming full sentences yet and the doctor made me feel like this was such an issue when most of the children I’ve been around didn’t start talking until closer to three. We had just passed the questionnaire they give you where they look for autism or disabilities but my son not forming a sentence at 27 months is so concerning for him. He is rude and unfriendly and just wants in and out of there, especially with a screaming child. I’m definitely going to be looking for a more kid friendly doctor.

He assesses the child quickly but if you have any questions you need to ask quickly because he won’t ask you. He wants to be in and out and honestly does not have a friendly demeanor with the child, family and his staff. I even told a staff member about his demeanor and is there quick turnover w his staff and she said quietly that he keeps them on their toes, meaning I probably won’t be here long.

The waiting room is super small. My husband and I took our new born to him 3 times, he was not informative or reassuring. Each time we saw home he would just tell us to read the info points on his website. Terrible doctor. He thought our daughters hips were out of place which can occurs in vaginal births, until I told him I had a c section then he said o no they are fine. Trrruble doctor.

The first requirement on my list for my children's pediatrician is the quality of care they receive. There is no doubt in my mind that Dr. Quintanilla puts the health of our kids as his top priority. I trust him with my children's health 100%. The staff is awesome! ESPECIALLY Tina! She is so helpful, informative, and on top of everything that has to do with the office! We are very thankful for her and everyone at Rancho Mirage Pediatrics
