In 2009, I had an ankle replacement after it was approved as a procedure. I know he was involved in the clinical trials so I waited for gov't approval. To this day (2024) I walk, run, am very happy I had it done. Gets a 5 vote from me.

Ankle replacement
About 6 years ago Dr Walling replaced my ankle. I couldn’t walk before surgery..he gave me my freedom back. Exactly exactly what was going to happen. Thank you for being so caring.

I had ankle replacement last June 18 at Tampa General. POst surgery, Dr. Walking told my wife, the ankle wasn't as bad as he thought, and that he didn't have to "roll my heel." After one year I' have to wear a brace and used a walking stick. My balance is bad, and I have trouble walking a block. I have little sensation in the affected foot. Now they want to do revision surgery to "roll the heel." The pre-op clearance was short and haphazard, no EKG, no nerve tests (though I said I had some neuropathy issues). Florida Ortho and Dr. Walking we're in a big hurry to operate. Now, he's retired, and his colleagues recommend "revision surgery." No, thank you!

Dr. Walling is the finest orthopedic surgeon in the United States, hands down!!! I was involved in a motorcycle accident September 24th 1987 , his bedside mannerisms are second to none. His professionalism is second to none. I can function with my foot and ankle all these years later, because of Dr.Walling. I owe him a lifetime of gratitude and wish him and his family well every day!!! God bless you

I was refered to Dr. Walling by my podiatrist in Winter Haven due to my foot surgery being very tedious. On my first visit to see Dr. Walling he was very nice and curtious. He explained my foot injury and the need for surgery to myself and my husband. Explained what surgery was needed in detail and after my surgery how long I would be in cast which was 2 months and then 1 month in surgical boot. During subsequent appointments he maintained his kindness and professional courtesy. I would recommend him highly.

Dr. Walling is a very rude dr and will dismiss any patient he doesnt feel is worth a look or feels they are a waste of his time. Went for a 2nd opinion and was told he was not choosing me as a surgical patient and to see another dr but was unwilling to state why or who to see other then i should see someone else but he wasnt telling me to see someone else. Still trying to figure out what dr is unwilling to help a patient or to see that a patient who is asking what to do next and being told he cant tell me anything even after the visit before with his PA was suppose to have a injection this visit and then being rudely dismissed like i was dirt under his feet. Gives Florida ortho a bad reputation to keep a jerk like him on staff.

I just went to med express on west 60 in Brandon and had seen a very nice doctor and wonderful staff. I had my problem take care immediately and ease my pain right a way. It was a very lucky thing that I just sprained my ankle and my wrists, also got two ankle and wrist support. Dr walling and his staff needs to learn from this med espresso clinic for patients care even though I know that your office already busy. Dr walling rather have one more good review thân turn away an hurting patient

Dr. Walling incorrectly diagnosed my problem. My surgery with him was arthrodesis. Dr. Walling never x-rayed above my ankle, where he thought the problem was. The repeated stress fractures were from an undiagnosed congenital malformation of my tibia. There was no outward appearance of a malformation, so Dr. Walling did not explore other causes for the fractures. My new doctor, in Orlando, x-rayed both legs from the mid-thigh to my feet. He discovered the real reason. Walling missed it.

I really liked Dr. Crawford I felt he was very thorough. I realized he relays information to Dr. Walling and I was fine with that. They very much agreed. waiting was not too bad because I had to have x-rays. Other wise the wait would have been too long.

Had a 12:10 appointment. They said he was running 1hour behind. I was brought to the room at 13:05. He finally saw me at 14:00. I explained that I had re- injured my ankle. Also PT has been painful but was helping. He did not examine my ankle. He told me it was arthritis and he was recommended I stop going to PH. I retold him that it was helping but painful after the session. He paid it know mind. This is how a Dr. visit should not go. Seeking a second opinion as I should.
