Not Attentive
Dr. Khawaja was my PCP for about a year. I saw him a few times as I was recovering from a serious ankle injury and trying to figure out the cause of my chronic fatigue. While the wait wasn't terrible, Khawaja never seemed to actually care about my health. He was always dismissive of my questions. After reviewing my sleep study, his suggestions were to sleep at an incline and avoid alcohol. I do not drink alcohol. And then he rushed out, as always.

I've been seeing Dr. Khawaja for about 6 months now. At my first appointment, he was unfamiliar with a very common preventative measure for STI's that I asked for a prescription for. He scheduled me an appointment with a specialist who was confused as to why I was there when I went in for the specialist's appointment. The specialist said that this was a medication my doctor should have been aware of, and I was then charged out of pocket for the appointment. I was willing to let this issue go as anyone can make mistakes, however, over two weeks ago, I came to him with a concerning lump in my testicle. He ordered an ultrasound, and then never read me the results. I called SMG brookline where he was based 7 times over the course of the two weeks since getting said ultrasound and he still has not called me with the test results. I do not trust his medical knowledge, his concern for his patients, nor his ability to follow up in a timely manner with patients.

Bad impression from the beginning, he didn’t have me change into a gown for my annual physical despite it being our first time meeting AND it being my first time in the office for 2 years due to scheduling difficulties. He asked limited questions about my history and only did a quick physical exam over my clothes. I brought up concerns re: allergies (seasonal and pet); he did not provide me any solutions after I told him I was waiting for an appt with a specialist. His documentation was not updated from my last physical with another MD (it seems he just copy and pasted) and he claimed I had no medical concerns (VERY false). The only thing he had to say was that I was “obese” and that he could prescribe wt loss meds. I was appalled, especially as I am a health professional myself and that is NOT something you first suggest to someone; usually it’s lifestyle modification first. If he got a little more hx, he would have realized I had a poor appetite due to losing my dad recently.

I did not like the treatment I received from this doctor and I think his write ups are not truthful or accurate. I did not feel safe or like I was taken care of at all. In matter of fact I felt like it was a waste of time and money and left me more concerned than before I went. Due to his dismissive and ignorant approach he ruined my entire end of the year plans. I went to my PCP 2 days later and they assisted me with a proper course of treatment. Due to this doctors terrible approach to medicine he ruined all my plans and caused pain and grief.

He listens
He listens which is impossible to find in the US despite all The education and training. So yes, recommended because he understand the patient is the one living in his own body. Not sure about treatment because I am just starting so I don’t have a reference so this would be updated then.

Compassionate and utmost integrity
This is the most positive interaction I've had with a doctor in years and would recommend him to anyone. He listened intently and was thorough in his treatment plan based off of my current situation. I hope to continue with Dr. Khawaja as long as I'm in Boston.

High marks
This was my first visit. My PCP had left the organization, which is why I met with Dr Khawaja. He was on time, very polite, well-versed with my medical history and had a plan for me. I liked the fact that he did not want me to rely on medication but instead to improve my diet and to regularly exercise. This is aligned with my own thinking. After the visit, all of my medications were immediately refilled and and my lab results posted online promptly. I feel very good about picking him to be my PCP.

Dr. Khawaja has been great.
Dr. Khawaja is a professional and knowledgeable Doctor, Whom takes the time to listen to His Patients concerns, He wont just try to throw medication at a problem willie-nillie which is awesome to see, and He was able to get My blood pressure under control, the later improving My QOL dramatically. I would give more stars if I could, I would absolutely recommend this Doctor.

I asked for antivirals for my COVID and he told me I don’t need them. I absolutely respect his medical opinion, but when I asked him to document this he told me that everything we discuss would of course be in the notes. When I received the notes he had not written one single thing beyond “COVID diagnosis.” I wanted to write this review so that patients with symptoms of unknown causes look him up they know to be wary of dismissal.
