Avoid at all cost
Went to Dr. Arnie Chusid for two children for a number of years. We appreciated his directness, crabbiness and off-color humor. Problem occurred when we took a child in due to consistent trouble breathing while running - not severe but concerning. The good Dr. took us into his office and called in his head RN. He started throwing articles at us regarding parents who are living vicariously through their children with respect to sports. He said let's check his breathing - come with me. As we all walked into exam room, he scolded us for bringing a healthy child into office during flu season. He took my child's arm a ran it up and down the doorway and said 'You want the flu? Here you go' Stunned, we started leaving the office. On the way out I looked at his RN who had tears in her eyes and she said 'I am so sorry'. I have always regretted not formally reporting him to authorities. Amazing to me he is still practicing. Hope no one was hurt by him.

Great Doctor, Horrible Person
He is never wrong with a diagnosis, and will treat your condition. You definitely will get better if you see him. However, he does not handle emotional concerned mothers well. He has been known to use foul language and tell it like it is. If you disagree with him, it will turn into an argument instead of having a professional conversation.

Tells it straight. Not for hypochondriacs or helicopter moms. And a consummate professional. Staff terrific. Signs scattered throughout office are hilarious and full of advice many parents will NOT want to read.

Excellent, practical, realistic, pays full attention, not rushed, refers to actual books and historical evidence instead of just 'googling'! The office staff is wonderful - helpful, patient, courteous. Wouldn't take my kids anywhere else.

I only have one child, but was referred to see Dr. Chusid by friends and family. He is a very smart man, witty, and caring - the most important quality. There are doctors in practice who are handling children with the "$" as their halo. Dr. Chusid operates with charisma, and confidence. He has told me straight out that my child, now 3, has asthma, and I was in denial. He really said something to wake me up from my ignorance. Now I know he is not about the dough. His wisdom is priceless.
