Dr. Ari Youderian, MD

Dr. Yourderian was so knowledgeable. He answered all my questions. I believe he is a highly trained surgeon. I had zero problems with my total reverse shoulder replacement. My pain level right after surgery was minimal, no pain pills needed after 3rd day. Highly recommend.

Dr. Youderian is knowledgeable and very experienced. During my first visit with him, he explained the procedure, as well as how my arm movement would improve with time after surgery.The first week after procedure was very painful and very uncomfortable, after that pain starting to slowly subside. Now at 1 year after surgery...I can say I'm almost pain free, can move my arm forward, upward and about 50% towards my back.

I felt very comfortable from the very beginning of the procedure. Dr. Youderian is such a nice person and highly skilled as a surgeon. I have felt very little pain since the procedure. It went so smoothly. I can't believe I was out of there in about 4 hours! The entire staff is excellent. I highly recommend Dr. Youderian for any shoulder surgery. I may ask him to do my other shoulder next year! Thank you so very much, Dr. Youderian!

Appointment I received a referral for my shoulder pain that I have been experiencing for a while. SCOC had the referral for about a month, and I was not able to get my x-ray due to Covid and sickness. After getting the X-ray, I called SCOS. I was on hold to get through to the receptionist for 16 minutes, before they disconnected my call. I am not getting phone calls from those who are not on my contact list, therefore, I am not able to use the call back option. After getting connected dialing the number for physicians, I was rerouted to appointment desk that I waited for a few minutes before it connected. I made the appointment and thought that I would be seeing the doctor. They asked all different kinds of questions, even though the referral has all that information included in it. Anyhow, I was at work the next day when I received a call from SCOS. They said that they could not see me, because I was seen 4 years ago by their competitors for my back surgery. Excuse me, my back. I was concerned about the pain in my shoulder, as well as the range of motion in my arm - it had become a problem. Dr Youderian and staff explained what was wrong and what the likely outcome would be if I choose surgery(reverse should replacement). The attention from the staff at SCOS and Dr Youderian made it clear they knew what to do. The surgery went better, way better, that I had thought. There was much less pain during recovery than I expected. I stopped taking pain meds after the first day. After the first week I was feeling quite good. It is now almost 9 months later: pain is long gone, probably 7-8 months gone; range of motion is almost back to normal. It is difficult to wash my back with that arm, not painful, arm just won't move everywhere I want, but close - at least 90%. Could not be happier with this outcome!

Dr. Youderian replaced both of my shoulders this past year. I had read and heard horror stories on how difficult the surgery would be. Dr. Youderian, along with his PA Josh, was sympathetic and supportive throughout. Both spent a lot of time with me during my pre-op visits, and Josh replied to each email within 24 hours (if not sooner!). I am back to Pickleball and pain free. Dr. Youderian's expertise, I am sure, contributed to my ease of recovery AND my emotional well-being.

Dr, Youderian was very knowledgeable and explained my diagnosis and the best procedure for me. His assistants were also very helpful and friendly, making sure all my questions and concerns were answered. So far, my shoulder replacement has exceeded my expectations! Very happy and almost completely pain free!

Long wait times, doctor didnt try to fix the problem, He didn't explain what he was going to be doing for surgery. Doctors are over booked, and the patient is treated like a cattle run. Its all about $$$$$$$.

He wasnt very personable, he didnt have a plan set on my surgery, they were 2 hours behind and when I finally got in to get ready for surgery it was another 2 hours to wait. Then Dr Ari Youderian went in a did nothing to help me, just took pictures and his assistant claimed he went in and cleaned it up. he said it wasn't repairable or didn't want to take the time to repair it since he was already 4 hours behind. What a waste of my time and he is a quack doctor only looking to make a buck for scosc orthopedic

I just completed my one year anniversary of surgery needed for an exceptionally severe fractured humerus. I was referred to Dr. Youderian by another orthopedic surgeon who is a trusted family friend (Dr. Calafi-foot and ankle specialty). Although my humerus was broken in several places and I was in incredible pain, I drew some comfort from knowing I was going to be in the hands of an incredibly skilled shoulder surgeon. Although I will never be as good as I once was (that is beyond any mortal's ability to restore) Dr. Youderian did an amazing job 're-assembling' my shoulder with the plate and pins that are now a permanent part of me. It is a change-true. But I cannot express enough gratitude for the precision and skill that were needed for my surgery and rehabilitation. Dr. Youderian is in high demand, so if you need shoulder surgery I hope you are fortunate enough to be one of his patients,. Thank you again, Dr. Youderian! The problem I have been experiencing started with a "pop" in my left shoulder while I was doing curls with a 20 pound weight. It has now been about three months since this occurred. Shortly after the problem occurred I was referred to Dr. Youderian by my primary care physician. I delayed making an appointment until recently. Dr. Youdarian did a quick evaluation and gave me some exercises that will help with the repair (healing) of my shoulder. The consultation was relatively short and very professionally done.

Dr Youderian is always friendly , makes it very easy with my cortisone shots, hope I never have to review him for shoulder surgery . Fingers crossed .

*** ATTENTION CASH PATIENTS.... MUST READ.*** Dr. Youderian gets 5 stars. Dr. Youderian is an amazing Dr. but the office/staff are not included. I previously (6 months ago) saw Dr. Youderian w/ insurance coverage. This visit I called to see how much the same treatment would cost as a cash patient. The lady told me a certain amount so I made an appointment (Friday) to see Dr. Youderian. After I was treated I was told the cost for treatment and THE COST WAS DOUBLE THE AMOUNT I WAS TOLD ON THE PHONE. My frustration lays deep because If I was NOT MISLEAD/LIED to I would have waited to make my appointment on Monday because my new medical insurance would be active. They refused to honor their recorded phone calls and what the lady on the phone stated. Speak to Destiny if you have billing questions because she seems to be the one who knows cost of treatment at South Coast Orthopedic Specialist.

I have been going to Dr. Youderian for almost a year. He has gotten me back to swimming, exercising, and actually being able to sleep without pain. I can’t say enough about him and I would highly recommend him!
