I was scheduled for a TURP procedure with my urologists when I heard about PAE. I investigated it a lot and decided to have the procedure with Dr Isaacson. After the procedure it hurt a lot to urinate for up to two to three weeks. I thought I would never do this again. After three weeks I hurt less and less. Two months later I would DO IT AGAIN!!! I used to wake up 3-5 times a night for over a year. I would also urinate at least 20 times/day (not exaggerating). Now I get up MAYBE once/night and have considerably reduced my bathroom time/day. I can drive for hours now without mapping out each and every bathroom along the way. AMAZING procedure with no long term side effects.

Prostate Artery Embolization- TOP NOTCH DOC!
Dr. Isaacson performed the Prostate Artery Embolization on me 2 months ago and I’m already sleeping better with only 2 times getting up to pee in the 7 to 8 hrs of sleep every night! That’s down from 5!! I also notice my stream is definitely noticeably stronger! Dr. Isaacson was extremely nice and informative and very approachable. He ticks all the necessary boxes for a nervous patient I can tell you that. Explained everything very clearly and he was very careful and obviously 100% successful. Definitely 5 stars. Highly recommended!

Excellent results following PAE procedure.
It is one month ago today that I had the PAE procedure performed by Dr. Ari Isaacson. I had this procedure done after having an extremely enlarged prostate that cut off my ability to pass urine. Three weeks after undergoing the procedure my catheter was removed and I was able to urinate on my own without a catheter. My psa went from a 10 plus down to a 7.6. The effect of this procedure is progressive with the final results being seen after four or five months. Best part is no surgery and therefore no incontinence and no long recovery. Definitely recommend Dr. Ari Isaacson!

PAE
Dr. Isaacson and his staff showed that they really care about what they do to help men like me improve their quality of life. That is something to admire! I did not feel any pain while having My PAE procedure, the post procedure symptoms were exactly as they were explained to me and lasted as indicated. My urge to urinate has disappeared, I do not feel pressure on my bladder anymore and am emptying my bladder completely now. I do not have to get up frequently at night as I had to before the PAE procedure. Definitely recommend PAE to any men wanting to shrink their prostate and eliminate the issues associated with BPH! And definitely recommend Dr. Isaacson and his staff. Thank you!

Prostrate artery embolization (PAE) Great choice
My urologist recommended that I get a PAE procedure and also recommended Dr. Isaacson. I did some research on the procedure and found out it was somewhat new and less intrusive than others with good reviews and great results. My procedure took a little longer than expected (I was in the 2% category that Dr. Isaacson had to make two punctures vs. one. Had a little pain afterwards for about a week. However, after two months my previous symptoms have practically disappeared. Me stream is noticeably stronger and I can sleep 7-8 hours without getting up to eliminate. Unbelievable. I’m a 72 year old white male. I would not hesitate to recommend.

PAE
I had PAE done with Dr. Isaacson in Jan. 2022. Positives - He was engaging, smart and procedure itself was not bad at all. Negatives - Navigating insurance was a nightmare with his business staff. Procedure eventually shrunk my prostate from 92 to 71 g. However, it had no impact on urinary symptoms. Thus, I will be having a HOLEP soon.

Kind and compassionate doctor
I have been a patient of Dr. Isaacson for a few years, and have found his bedside manner impeccable and he is always there to answer questions about the right course of treatment, not to mention follow up. His medical skills are top notch, he is empathetic, and he and his staff always put the patient first.

A warm and caring Physician
I had my knee done in his office and found it to be a quite painless and thorough experience. All Dr. Isaacson's staff were quite friendly and professional and I felt that they gave me excellent care. Since the office is close to the airport and the hotel they use is nearby as well, it was easy arriving and leaving Raleigh. Thank you Dr. Isaacson.

PAE procedure didn’t last
I had the PAE procedure on May 20, 2021. The results were very temporary lasting 4-5 months. It certainly wasn’t worth the pain and stress of the procedure. I can not recommend this procedure.

Dr Isaacson has been doing prostate artery embolization (PEA) for many years at UNC, taught the procedure, and wrote the book (see Amazon). In my case, 3 weeks after my PEA I am off my high dose tamsulosin, urinating less frequently includig sleeping through the night without having to get up to pee. Thank you Dr Isaacson! Dr Isaacson's office is well set up in Raleigh, and the procedure was done under a mild sedative. Having previously been subjected to a Urolift, I can say the Prostate Artery Embolization procedure I had with Dr Isaacson was decidedly easier, simpler, and less traumatic, while being equally, if not more, effective than a Urolift.

Dr. Isaacson performed PAE on me to shrink my enlarged prostate and did an outstanding job. He is incredibly empathetic, listens well, and is extremely well trained in what he does. Dr. Isaacson also has a first rate staff, and his cutting edge equipment and facilities are modern. He called me on weekends to see how I was doing after the procedure. I have lived in New York and California, and now in North Carolina, and I have had many doctors treat me. I can honestly say that he is the best physician I have ever had. In addition, the PAE procedure is among the least invasive approaches to treating BPH, and I have had excellent results with only minor side effects. Dr. Isaacson has performed this procedure often, and he is one of the nation's top physicians in this growing area. He provides patients all of the information they need about the procedure in a straightforward manner, and he is very patient and always answers my questions completely. He will tell you like it is.

I did a lot of research regarding the PAE procedure and once that I decided that it was right for me I set out to find the best Dr to perform the PAE. Again after much research, I decided to drive the 1400 mile round trip and have Dr Isaacson do the procedure. He took the time to answer my questions even before I was his patient and though he is very busy I sensed that he did it with a smile. Though in high demand and he cared enough about what I was going through to squeeze me very quickly all without any fanfare or expectations. You can tell by the hospital staff how highly regarded he is, they treat him with respect and he responds to them as a friend. Empathy in a Dr is so important and it's self evident on Dr Isaacson, he really cares about everyone. The procedure started on time, thank God it went smoothly and he finished before his "play-list" was done. I had no pain, no post PAE affects and drove home the next day. Extremely satisfied.
