Phenomenal, attentive, and thorough. Flexible and went out of his way for me.

This Doc Brings Great Results
I have seen Dr. A over the past seven years for knee issues associated with arthritis. I went through some steroid shots and then finally had partial knee replacements, five years apart. I am currently recovering from the second and, once again, have had amazing results. I returned to work in ten weeks with the first. I am at weeks post op and feel this is going the exact same way. My scars are pretty perfect and I am grateful for the pain relief. I was always informed step by step throughout and felt confidant in his care. I would recommend him. There is a waiting time often when I see him but not his fault. U of C really books him up. I give him 5 stars!

Avoid at all Costs
Please avoid at all costs. He is truly the worst. I arrived on time to my appointment and still waited well over an hour to see him. I finally got up to leave and his assistant found him standing around with a bunch of other doctors. I told him I was leaving and suddenly he was free to see me of course so he wouldn’t lose out on getting to bill a patient. He rushed through the appointment, didn’t leave anytime for me to ask questions. I literally had to stop him on his way out the door and say I had a question. The entire thing was rushed and he has zero bedside manner. I even had to suggest a possible cause of the knee pain I was feeling and only then did he acknowledge the possibility. He’s terrible. Save your time and go elsewhere

This doctor has horrible bedside manner. He rushed through the visit & was very bland. He took a look at my X-ray and MRI films and told me that I ONLY needed physical therapy. Six minutes later he says “Hold on, I’m reading the impression from certified Radiologist and they found something.” He goes back to MRI pictures and says “I’m sorry, but you will need surgery and physical therapy.” Then he rushed through the explanation of what was wrong and how to fix it. I can forgive an honest mistake. However, if you are rushing and miss things during the doctors visit before surgery that’s a red flag. Also, after he realized the error and apologized, he did not humble himself and he continued to rush and be very nonchalant. It was his blatant arrogance that bothered me the most.

Horrible experience with Dr. Athiviraham. I had an acl reconstruction surgery with him. I barely got to see or speak to him before the surgery and when i did he was extremely pushy and was trying to rush out of the office everytime. it was very hard to communicate with him and he was extremely impatient and acted if answering my questions was a huge burden. I was very uncomfortable with the whole process. And besides all that, i had to get the surgery redone due to my acl being loose. Please think twice before considering this doctor. The Dr was impatient, rude, late, and impossible to get a hold of. It was an absolutely awful experience through and through.

I have a limited number of PTO's per year and had to take one off today to see him. I waited over an hour to see Dr. Athiviraham, making a patient wait an hour is not acceptable. The office has poor management, I would not recommend getting getting surgery at such a clinic.
