Will Not Be Returning
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Arati H. Joshi for nine years and at times have found her to be a bit abrupt, but she was usually pleasant, willing, and able to treat me. Unfortunately, over the past few weeks, especially today, she showed complete disregard for my current medical situation, immobility, and diagnosed anxiety. She is unwilling to work with me to refill her own prescriptions that she knows are critical to my health. In one last effort to receive her explanation to better understand, I called her office. They gave me her nurse but I could hear Dr. Joshi in the background telling her what to say. I asked the nurse if I could speak with her directly, but she would not speak with me. This is completely unprofessional for any physician to refuse a conversation with a patient.I then spoke with my insurance company and found a list of doctors in my area who will do what she won’t and will help me with my needs rather than dismiss them. I will not be returning to her office.

Bad Advice, Bad Attitude
I've been stuck with this provider for around a year and almost every appointment has been bad. I talked about weight loss and her advice was just eat less and exercise more - I was already in a calorie deficit and exercising daily, and she offered no other alternative or to look at other reasons why I can't lose weight, such as insulin resistance or other hormonal imbalances. I've been on meds for a condition for several years. The condition is well managed and does not require lab work or testing but once per year, and she still makes me come in regularly for an appointment for refills. Her office visits with my insurance are nearly 250 and I can't afford that on my income. When I am there, the appointments are rushed and her attitude is condescending. She doesn't do a good job of listening to what her patients actually need or want.

Completely lacks compassion and doesn't understand
I have depression along with emotional eating issues that I am working on with my mental health care team. My psychiatrist wanted me to loop my primary care in to talk about potential weight loss medications. I'm not 100% sure that I want to be on weight loss medications but every time I've had a conversation with Dr Joshi about my weight she tells me 'you just need to stop eating certain foods. Don't buy them and exercise more.' I tried explaining to her that I completely understand the mechanics of how to lose weight and if it was that simple for everybody nobody would have a weight issue. She kept harping on not wanting to give me the medication and I kept telling her that's totally fine. And then she just kept saying 'just eat less'. Due to an incredibly traumatic childhood I struggle with a lot of things and a doctor like this doesn't help me at all. If all you need is your yearly blood work done I'm sure she's fine but if you have anything more complicated than that go elsewhere

I’ve seen her on and off for years. She’s always had a bad attitude and has never taken time with me. I had an appointment with her last week for severe hot flashes and mood swings. She did absolutely nothing except listen to my heart and breathing. She acted bothered by my presence and was extremely rude to me. No questions , no blood work, no NOTHING!!! Please DO NOT use this so called doctor!! She is VERY rude and incompetent!!

Dr Joshi is knowledgeable but he support staff especially her assistant Manjula at the Lawrenceville office is useless. It is almost impossible to get an appointment for something as simple as an annual health check up. She is always tooo busy, even for her regular patients. You have to contact the office multiple times for a small request

I am absolutely disgusted. For credibility, I am a student at Duke University. My sister went to Dr.Joshi's office today for her checkup, and Dr.Joshi not only called her obese(which she is not by any health standards according to the CDC guidelines), but also told her to eat 800 calories a day to lose weight. Do you know how dangerous it is for someone to tell a teenage girl that she needs to eat 800 calories?? That is only 250 more calories than what a newborn baby needs. If you look at any reputable website, 800 is considered dangerously low. She should be eating more than 1,400 calories to sustain a healthy lifestyle and metabolism. I am absolutely disgusted by the idiocy of someone who has a medical license. I don't know if she's stupid, or just out of date, but this is not okay. I will definitely be spreading the word about her incompetency to as many people as I can.

I’ve been with Dr Joshi for 20+ years and have never seen or witnessed any of the bad complaints I see on this page. She’s attentive and very thorough not to mention how thoughtful she is. Her Med Assistants are very caring. Her care is top of the line and I’d suggest her services. The offices are clean.

I have been going to her for a few years now and she was not my doctor by choice I was passed to her because another doctor stopped practicing there. She’s not attentive and will rush through. Her Med assistant is not friendly the office has an order and the bathroom where you have to leave a sample will pile up and leave it smelling like irons. I am currently looking for a new doctor.

Dr .Joshi and her Medical Assistant SUCKS. They DONT RETURN YOUR CALLS, EVER!!! They are NOT accommodating, nor are they willing to work with you and your work schedule. I ran out of meds because she wanted to have me come back in, pay another co-pay just for a refill. I CAN'T TAKE OFF!! This practice sucks, royally!!!! I didn't feel comfortable the moment I walked into that office. The employees even expressed their HATE for the practice. SAD !!!!!!

I'm disappointed with the way this Dr spoke to my mother who has had 2 strokes. This Dr did not take the time to get the correct background information and listen to my Mom in regards to a matter she needed help with. This Dr needs to mind how she speaks to people and treat patients with a bit of dignity and respect.

She is a very thorough physician. She was able to prescribe a blood pressure medicine that worked that didn't make me dizzy. She was interested in getting to the root of my anemia problem with further testing instead of just treating symptons. She listens well and makes sound recommendations for treatment. A very pleasant lady and excellent physician

She is just the Best of the Best! Dr. Joshi has tolerated and cared for me for over 15 years. Being a horrible patient she has remained very patient and firm with me. I know when she means business and adhere to her advice. Before making any decisions about my health I always get advice from her - no matter what the issue is. She will either answer if it is her specialty or direct me to the proper physician for more information. Our family respects her and appreciates her!
