Dr. Anurag Chandra, MD

I met Dr. Chandra after I was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer with additional tumors that spread to my brain. My cancer is very far advanced and radiation is one of the treatment methods recommended to me to lengthen my life expectancy. Dr Chandra perform multiple sessions of radiation on my lung tumors and I had a single session for my brain tumors. My radiation went as well as can be expected and Dr. Chandra was able to shrink my lung tumors significantly and destroy the small brain tumors all together. Going through this cancer has been the worst experience of my life but I can honestly say that the team of doctors, nurses, and office staff here have been one of the few blessings through this. I have never been treated with anything but the upmost kindness, compassion, and diligence imaginable. Thank you to everyone here. I was being treated for my cancerous brain tumors back in 2013. My mom loved him. She’s all about a smart doctor that gives you a lot of details when she asks questions.I can see the positive and negative reviews here though. One of his nurses came to my fundraiser and he told her that he thinks he healed me. Which he did until November 2023, when I had my first seizure. 10 years is pretty long! Now I get to deal with it. So anyways, I would still recommend him for sure if you’re near his new office. He’s definitely knowledgeable in his field!

When you need this doctor, you are in trouble. For my wife, it was tumors in the brain that needed treatment quickly. He makes decisions with care but also about matters that are fraught with risk. The office is efficient and easy to deal with. My wife saw him both in St Clare's and in the radiation oncology office. We have watched him take in information and make decisions. Top notch.

I had a great experience with Dr Chandra he was not very talkative but answered all my questions and did not rush me I was very comfortable at St Clare’s the staff was friendly it was clean and I’m very happy with my 18 radiation treatment results, thank you Dr Chandra !

He was a rude, callous, uncaring physician. I was shocked at the way he treated me. After the initial consult, why would I ever allow him to treat me?

I am hesitant to go into the details of my one visit with this doctor. We were brought in to his office to meet with him and he didn't even look at us, never mind welcome us in any way. He was cold and callous. It felt as if he slapped us in the face with her diagnosis. It's one thing to be more of a clinical type of person...that would have been fine. But he was downright mean. At one point, he wanted my mother to see his screen and only turned the screen ever so slightly that she had to lift herself up off a chair and slowly walk over to him. I wanted to scream. If you look for any humanity in a doctor, or one that can offer any level/kind of compassion, find another one. I left that meeting honestly wondering why he even became a doctor, unless it was just for the money. I am traumatized by the experience and found another one that feels like she's ready to get to work fighting my Mom's cancer.
