Outstanding and caring
Our daughter saw Dr. Lee and was quickly able to determine her issue could not be helped by pain management. Kind and caring, answered questions without medical jargon. Referred quickly to surgeon whose office called while we were still at Dr Lee’s. Would highly recommend him.

Worst doctor ever who discriminates
When he came in,I said hello nice to meet you. He gave me a belligerent scoff no eye contact. He said that he couldn’t see my list of meds on the computer. I brought my list of meds from mgh Brigham patient gateway and I told him so. My PCP’s office is in the same building. If needed I could have call them ask them to fax or email the med list. I was talking to him when he abruptly left the room without saying anything to me. After half an hour of waiting, I found the nurse&told her what happened. She rolled her eyes nodding yes. She wasn’t surprised at Dr. Lee’s appalling mistreatment. I told the receptionist that I was living and not coming back due to the way I was treated. She shrugged off my complaints. The male medical professional who was there gave me a horrid look as if I was at fault for having self respect. They didn’t care how far I traveled, my disability, not the mistreatment, nor they offered me an appointment with another doctor. He denied care with no explanation

Completely unprofessional. We waited for an hour before his assistant told us that the doctor was locked out of the medical record system, and therefore cannot actually see us and had to cancel. Nobody informed anything during the hour. He kept us waiting for an hour without showing his face to explain the situation himself. What a joke.

No help at all
After several years of PT with limited success, I reached out to dr lee and his team. I met with home 3-4 times and he must of spent less than 20 minutes total with me, and he was quick and not very friendly. On top of that sometimes I would only talk to his med student, not reassuring. They recommended 2 types of injections, and neither worked. So he and his med student said to try acupuncture which also did not work. Thank you for nothing

I have seen Dr Lee on several occasions concerning Lower Back and Hip issues. Chronic pain is something that needs to be managed since there is no cure. He was very sincere in trying to find the root cause of my pain. We took a very conservative approach with physical therapy and prescription anti inflammatories first, then decided on an injection in the hip for arthritis. A year later, my pain is manageable and I can still put my socks and shoes on by myself. Small wins, and I am truly thankful for Dr Lee’s care.

Dr. Lee is absolutely amazing. Very nice and knows what he is doing. I’ve been to a pain management doctor at another doctors office and he was terrible. Dr. Lee made me feel comfortable and actually listened to me and helped me with my severe back pain. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who suffers with chronic back pain.

Anthony C Lee MD is a rude and very unhappy person. I will never see him again. Do not waste your time. His excuse is that he gets bad reviews because people are drug seeking for opioids. Not true Tony my boy. I have brought my complaint to the level of his chief with no satisfaction. Now I shall bring in the board of trustees.

I don't know what happened between these patients and Dr. Lee but he has been my doctor for the last 5 years and he has been a lifesaver. I have chronic back pain, neck pain, and hip pain. When I developed carpal tunnels he teased it out when my orthopedic surgeon wrongly said that my hand pain was from my neck. I see him 3-4 time a year to manage my pain issues.

I've never had such a negative experience with any doctor before I met Dr. Lee. I course of my 3 appointments with him he spent not more than 3 min with me at each appointment. At the first meeting he declared that I have arthritis without even looking at my X-ray image. He sent me to the physical therapy which helped with my neck problem. However a different problem surfaced that required an MRI. When I came to discuss the result there was a misunderstanding about the cause of pain interpretation. I am not a doctor and possibly erred in terminology. I became speechless when Dr. Lee became so much agitated and accused me in "changing stories" and declared that he won't see me again without an interpreter. Just because I speak English with an accent - which does not jeopardize my English skills at all (I worked 25 years as a patent analyst including dealing with medical topics). I had to leave the office without any explanation of my tests. Dr. Lee behaved unprofessionally and rude.

I saw Dr. Lee for a second opinion. I was told that I needed surgery for my sciatica. Dr. Lee said that "85%" of sciatica goes away in 2 months without any treatment, just to take it easy. He was right!

Dr. Lee has been my doctor for the last two years since one of his associates basically told me that there was nothing he could do for my pain. Dr. Lee has been amazing. He takes the time to listen to me. He talks to me like an equal, goes over everything, and always has new ideas to try to help me. He has diligently fought with my terrible insurance to help enure that I am getting the proper meds at the proper dosage. I have read some of the other poor reviews on here and I am shocked.

During the first visit, Dr. Lee recommended me to do physical therapy for my back pain problem. After I finished, during the 2nd visit, I told him I still felt pain. He recommended me to do MRI. He said he would give me injections to relief if I still felt back pain. How much money do I and my insurance company need to spend to treat my back pain problem without a true recover? After second visit, I decided to exercise more every day. Now my back pain problem goes to the minimum.

Dr. Lee was extremely aggressive with me and told me that he thought I was making up my back pain. I heard him laughing in the hallway outside of my room with other staff members. I definitely would not recommend this doctor or the Beth Israel Pain clinic to anyone.

After waiting months for this appt., this doctor didn't even offer any kind of treatment for my dx chronic pain conditions. He said he wanted wait another 3 months to see if my symptoms persist. Maybe I am mistaken, but it seemed like he and his office either thought I was drug-seeking or being abused, & they asked to speak to me without my mother present. It was very bizarre. Fortunately many other medical professionals have agreed on my dx & have been able to provide effective treatments.
