Dr. Anthony Ho, MD

Visit went OK. Surgery was without complications. He installed a metal plate to bridge the breakusing a large number of screws. My post surgical pain was significant and severe. He kept telling me that the x rays showed nothing wrong. He was haughty, and arrogant. H refused to treat the pain. He as not caring or sympathetic. Just ignored my concerns. I finally just stopped going to him.

Dr Ho's consultation seemed rushed without any clear direction. He offered 3 different surgical procedures and said less then 50 percent chance of success. He started me on PT while his office continued to try and have me schedule a surgery that he gave the impression would not be successful. Dr Ho was my first orthopedist who reviewed my MRI , I am glad to have changed insurance and to have gotten a clear treatment plan at ortho va .

Dr. Ho performed a right reverse total shoulder replacement at Virginia Hospital Center on 8/1/2023 to fix a frozen deteriorated arthritic joint which had limited my movement for 15 years and caused extreme pain. The day after outpatient surgery I could remove the sling at home, was showering and was working on my range of motion. Within a week I was at the gym exercising lightly, not using the sling at all, and was nearly pain free. After seven weeks I have 95% of my range of motion back and was told by Dr. Ho to resume normal activities. There is no pain and the scar is barely noticeable. During the entire procedure Dr. Ho was very professional, assuring me of a positive outcome and keeping me educated as to what was going on. I could not be happier. Four years ago Dr. Ho replaced my left radial head after I fractured my elbow playing basketball. The result was the same as my shoulder - pain free and complete use of the joint. I trust Dr. Ho completely. I am 75 years old.

In February 2022, Dr. Anthony Ho performed a total shoulder replacement for me. Prior to this surgery, and during recovery he was always attentive to all my needs and concerns. He took time to explain everything in detail. Throughout the months of rehabilitation Dr. Ho assigned my exercises and tracked my progress. By late August I had regained pain-free range of motion and strength in my shoulder. I admire and respect Dr. Ho's medical/surgical skills and would highly recommend him to anyone who is facing shoulder surgery. I would give him 5 ??

Throughly positive experience with Dr. Ho and Kaiser Permanente. After two surgeries on my arm and elbow, and even with shattered bone, after one year I have almost all of my range of motion once again.

Very young and inexperienced doctor. He is very quick to advice surgery without giving enough thoughts to xrays and other tests. Does not explain to the paitents anything in details and doesn't believe in conservative treatments...or all explain all options to paitents.

Amazing surgeon. Made my shoulder better when he replaced my shoulder for severe arthritis. Many years of pain is now gone. Very professional. Loved my stay at Virginia hospital Center
