Mean, doesn’t care about patients
Telehealth
Anthony is a mean, terrible doctor. He made me feel bad about not scheduling an appointment sooner when i told him how bad my symptoms were. he refused to refill my medication even though he could physically see how bad my withdrawal symptoms were. He said and I quote, “I was not prepared to have this conversation with you today. Once youve figured stuff out, see if you want to schedule a follow up appointment.” While I was crying because he doesnt know how to handle patients who are really struggling. Made me feel awful about not going to my school counselor when I already have a great therapist outside of school. He truly does not care about the well being of his patients, he just wants a check and to get you in and out as soon as possible. i hate this man.

“Gallo”
As a nursing student and seeing how my mom was so upset with her appointment with him.. I was disgusted and gave him a lesson on patient bed side manner. AND EMPATHY. I hope to be an advocate to you all. I will be reporting him, myself to the health department. He disregarded my moms medications and called the pharmacy to tell them she was unstable and canceled them all out. He will not get away with this. I promise you all. He does not deserve that title of doctor. Hence, my title of this post.

Terminally egotistical
He is remarkably judgemental, sends scripts to the wrong pharmacy, spends less than five minutes with you, yells, and does not tell you the side effects (which are significant) of starting or discontinuing a medication. I spent weeks with withdrawal symptoms and he never followed up!

Horrible doctor – Mar 27, 2023
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Gallo?
Would not recommend
January 5th, 2022 I was not a fan of his in the 6 months of being his patient to begin with and was actively looking for a new doctor while being in his care. Advice he gave me was extremely questionable and unprofessional. I asked, family, good friends and other Doctors about concerned advice he gave me and not ONE person could understand why a Dr in his profession would give such an outrageous and concerning advice he gave to me. Secondly, he knew nothing about me nor did he even care to ask me questions about me or my life as a whole. Telehealth visits last anywhere from 5-8 minutes and that was it! Most times he was either yawning or rubbing his face as if he was trying to wake up. I was lucky enough to find another Dr and not a moment too soon. This was the straw that broke the camels back. Dr. Gallo called into my pharmacy and gave the wrong dosage and I didn’t realize it until I got the medicine home. I wasn’t angry and actually I was in a great mood but, did call the office to

Terrible Experience
As others have noted, Dr Gallo is condescending, abrupt and tries to end the session in 5-8 mins. He offered no guidance when I asked him what he recommends--in fact, he would ask what I thought he should recommend instead of laying out some options. I never felt any genuine interest from him in really rolling up our sleeves to make progress on my issue. I've never met a dr who doesn't at least fake interest. Instead he uses a very calm condescending voice and seems uninterested in helping. Avoid this Dr. I actually think that he could potentially make things worse for a very vulnerable patient in distress.

Friendly, timely, understanding
Not sure why dr gallo is getting bad press. In my dealings with him, he’s always punctual, always courteous and has a great bedside manner. If it feels as though he’s rushing you or late perhaps it’s s because the patient before you took too long or because you’re going over your allotted time and he’s trying to be accommodating to the next patient

He's always late for appointments that last less than 5 minutes. Disinterested and dismissive. Rude office staff. Last time he was late again and I had to answer an important work call. Then I left messages since they didn't pick up. They're trying to bill me $125 for a missed appointment that HE missed. Don't go here.

Terrible. This man is condescending and absolutely rude. Every sentence is, “if you’re telling me the truth” what a terrible thing to say to a patient. He asked me if my son was mine...? What an awful question. Meaning, did I carry him. Stay away this guy should not have a license. I will be reporting him. I could barely stay on the phone with him. His personality is awful. Read the reviews, most people dislike this doctor, if that’s what you want to call him.

Sadly, I do not recommend Dr. Gallo. He does not listen well, minimizes your feelings/experience and is condescending. His appointments are very quick. He doesn't ask many questions and seems to be annoyed when you ask him questions. I think I deserve more as a patient.

His rude, impatient demeanor was immediately off-putting because I needed time to parse out the complexities of my situation. He would have none of this. He complained about not feeling well that day, which combined with his curtness made it seem like he didn’t want to be talking to me. He was rude, dismissive, seemingly uncaring, and negligent. I felt dizzy and nauseated from the interaction. Given that he knew my intake information, I felt that the way I was treated was completely insensitive to my needs. This behavior of his was intimidating, which interfered with my communication(this is a trauma issue I have), which in turn led to my being hastily dismissed. I had no idea what I was walking into. He also cut the appointment off at 20 minutes, revoking 40 other minutes I could have used to try to explain why I was there. Maybe there’s a silver lining there, in that I didn’t have to talk to a person with such an awful attitude anymore. Please avoid at all costs

Horrible medical treatment plans. Constantly interrupts when the patient is speaking. He wants a "one size fits all" type of patient. Individuals with variations of mental health issues are out of luck when looking for a different approach than what he has in mind. Unless you're a typical text book patient, you get sub standard treatment

DO NOT TRUST YOUR HEALTHCARE TO THIS MAN, HE WILL NOT LISTEN AND IN THE CASE OF MENTAL HEALTHCARE THIS IS DANGEROUS. I agree with the previous reviewers, Dr. Gallo is cold and dismissive. Saw him for depression/anxiety and substance abuse, he tried to convince me I was not suffering from depression. I followed his advice, checked into a treatment center, and journaled extensively about how depression has affected me from my youth (noted each traumatic incident so he would be able to understand) and offered to share this with him so he could understand self medication as a symptom of depression. He was not interested in seeing the journaling and described my case as “complicated”. SORRY DR GALLO THAT I SOUGHT TREATMENT FROM YOU FOR A REAL ISSUE THAT REQUIRES REAL EXPERTISE TO SOLVE. YOU VICTIMIZED ME THROUGH YOUR CARE AND OTHERS NEED TO KNOW THIS IS HOW YOU PRACTICE.

Had me rearrange my schedule last minute because he had an opening. Rushed to fill out all the paperwork. Then of course he sends the video invite to my cell phone when I told him I would be using a commuter (he should have emailed it). Then he just calls to say he can't treat me because I didn't fill out all the medications I've ever been on and just included what I do take each day. Its a long list! If you miss an appointment its 150$ but my time is worth nothing.

Dr. Gallo saved my daughter’s life. After years of fairly ineffective therapies for depression including medications, therapy, partial hospitalization and psychiatric care, she was referred to Dr. Gallo for treatment at Rhode Island Hospital. There he had established a very efficient and successful outpatient ECT practice. ECT is very challenging, but Dr. Gallo was reassuring and confident. His assembled team of anesthesia providers and nurses were empathetic, skilled and effective. Expectations and outcomes were clearly explained and delineated. Under the direction of Dr. Gallo, my daughter improved tremendously. His treatments eliminated her symptoms. She feels well and the reward of a child’s good health is beyond words for a parent. His friendly demeanor helped comfort our family during a challenging time. We will always be grateful. PM
