Always on time, thorough, present, communicates well, and friendly.

I had an insurance change so had to get a new endocrinologist. I had been with my old one for many years & felt great under their care. My first appointment with Dr Buttan was not great. He immediately criticized my previous doctors care & said I needed my dose of thyroid med lowered. Over the next 1.5 years, he kept lowering my dose with each visit ignoring my worsening symptoms. I complained of rapid weight gain, hair loss, dry skin, fatigue, stomach issues etc ..I was told it's not your thyroid meds, your labs look good. His reply to any female with thyroid issues is the same cookie cutter response:. Count your calories/ eat less and exercise more. I had done this & still had worsening issues. Every major endocrine association states that patients with thyroid issues should be treated by SYMPTOMS plus lab work. Dr. Buttan ignored complaints about feeling bad & will only treat per lab work. I also asked him about my blood sugar as he never once tested it at any visit. His reply was, I am your thyroid doctor, you can ask your GP to test your blood sugar. Very concerning as I thought endocrinologists treat all endocrine issues not just thyroid. My previous endo checked it at each visit as it was climbing and in the pre diabetic category. Dr. Buttan was unconcerned about that or my very concerning symptoms. I ended up going back to my old endocrinologist & paying out of pocket to see them. Under their care & changes to treatment plan, I am losing weight, have more energy, hair loss slowing down, skin feeling less dry...so basically my symptoms are all getting better again thanks to going back to my old endocrinologist. I feel Dr. Buttan does not listen to patient concerns & does not like to discuss alternatives. After seeing other similar reviews from female thyroid patients, I see they were treated the same way. I would not recommend him to any female thyroid patients. I notice that he mainly has good reviews from those seeing him mainly for diabetes, but seems to have many negative reviews from anyone like myself with thyroid issues.

He was able to request new tests that explained some of my issuesHe is kind, patient, and explains everything... Very accessible personalityI highly recommend him... this is my third year with Dr. Buttan!!!!

Provides detailed information and is very patient with answering questions. Does not reprimand but is very encouraging.

First off, the nurse that I spoke with was amazing, and this is no reflection of the staff in this office. After months of unanswered stomach pain and weight gain, my PCP recommended I visit Dr Buttan to rule out thyroid issues. After a lot of tests, including three visits to a hospital for radiology scans, he told me he wasn’t sure what was wrong. He recommended I count my calories even though I was eating less than before. I did not feel heard or cared for. Maybe it was because of my age, but I don’t think a professional should speak to a patient in this way. I went to another practitioner months later got to the root of the problem by asking a few simple questions.

Almost no wait time in lobby. Dr was polite and to the point. We didn’t feel rushed at all. He answered all questions and told us his next step

Dr Buttan was amazing ! First time seeing an endocrinologist, my obgyn recommended I see one after my TSh levels. He answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable. Happy I got to have my appointment with him.

My first experience with an endocrinologist was with this doctor. He was very rude, talked over me in a very loud voice (yelling basically) and did not let me explain anything to him such as, my concerns over certain medications, other condition I had. He did not listen at all. The medication prescribed caused side effects that made another condition I have worse. I called him and was told you can only email him. He insisted that none of the things I was experiencing were from meds prescribed. He simply did not listen. I felt ignored. I stopped taking the medication and my secondary condition improved. I have moved to another doctor. The stress I went through over his unprofessional behavior was not worth it. Never again.

Dr. Buttan make you feel comfortable. He doesn't rush you and listens to your questions and thoughtfully answers him. I so happy to have him as a doctor.

He was prepared and listened. His advise was clear.

Office staff very proactive and friendly on providing appointments, follow up info and documentation as needed. Dr. Buttan is very thorough and provided comprehensive examinations that ultimately led to proper treatments and maintenance. Went above and beyond in dealing with insurance that did not want to pay for the needed best available medication for my condition because it was a name brand and no generic alternate. Medication was approved and I am coasting now.

Dr Buttan is great at praising my accomplishments and great at helping me correct my actions when I make bad decisions that cause my numbers to backslide.

Dr. Buttan is very professional, friendly, and shows true compassion and care for whatever my medical needs may be. He also takes his time and listens to my concerns, and answers any questions I may have.

I rely on my niece to take me to my appointments and sometimes we do not make it on time. The level of understanding when we run a bit late and Dr. Buttan managing to address all my concerns and not rushing me is appreciated very much. Dr. Buttan speaks to me in a language I understand and it truly makes it easier for me to follow my treatment plan.

Best doctor and no rush willing to answer all questions

Dr Button was on time, willing to explain my diagnosis, very encouraging and never dismissive. I would definitely recommend him to everyone.

He is very nice and always encourages me to do better, rather than shame me into doing better. He always answers any questions I have.
