Dr. Anne Hamburg, MD

What every office should understand is that the front office (receptionist, etc.) can make or break the first impression. Showed up for an appt only to be told I was late. Wasn't; in fact, the PA had changed the appt time but didn't bother to pass that information along. (First strike.) Next, I had done the pre-check-in on-line, yet the receptionist asked how I wanted to pay for the visit (co-pay). I explained that I had pre-paid the copy, but she just could not understand. PA was condescending and unresponsive to requests for information. Finally, spoke with the office mgr., who was completely out of her depth. As for Dr. Hamburg, perhaps she is an okay clinician, but with a staff like hers, who would want to return? Not me.

Dr. Hamburg listens carefully and also cares about the entire person's health and well-being .

In my recent visit with Dr Hamburg II was happy to once again experience her friendly care. Some ten years earlier Dr Hamburg was the first to diagnose my symptoms as Parkinsons Disease. In an interesting vignette Dr Hamburg had also in the back of her mind been working on a speech and more specifically on adding humor so she asked me if I had any suggestions. That took me completely by surprise but helped put me at ease after the un-funny news. So did I have a joke? Well for a second I thought about suggesting a modified version of Groucho Marx’s famous comment on honesty along the lines of: ”Care, genuine care and if you can fake that…etc" but instantly realized how not funny that would have been since Dr Hamburg’s caring is neither fake nor a joke. E.g. to prepare for our second visit last week she spent several hours of her personal time reviewing my medical files of the last ten years looking for clues for a potentially better diagnosis or treatment of my condition. Seriously!

Dr. Hamburg is wonderful. She listens...I mean really listens and is 110% engaged during my visits. She goes above and beyond to ensure continuity of care. I have several specialists and I have two I can really, really count on and Dr. Hamburg is one.

Anne Hamburg is an amazing doctor. I moved here from several years ago. At the time, I was having seizures not controlled by medication. Dr. Hamburg carefully adjusted my medications, and things were soon under control. Dr. Hamburg takes time to talk to me. She listens to me. Sometimes that is a rare quality in a physician. If you are looking for a professional and caring physician, I definitely recommend Dr. Hamburg.

Dr. Hamburg is amazing! I needed to find a neurologist closer to home who would monitor me for UW Hospital & Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and help treat me for seizures and daily extremely bad migraines. I came to her as a patient who went through aggressive stage 4 L-B cell Non-Hodg lymphoma, that showed up again as secondary brain cancer, and then I went through a stem cell transplant at UW Hospital and SCCA. She has always been respectful to me and my caregiver. She has always listened to concerns, questions and helped me get my issues in control. She is friendly and has never made me feel like I am just another number. She has been one of the amazing doctors on my stage journey! She's definitely a keeper!

Dr Hamburg has been my neurologist for several years. She's always been very friendly. Listens to my complaints and offers options regarding treatment. She's understanding that all patients have different histories and expectations of treatment. She's my best advocate. She gets me the treatments I need.

I met with Dr. Anne Hamburg for continuity of care, but she seemed cold and uninterested. It was like she wanted to pass me off to a psychiatrist for my TBI. She didn't smile once and was impersonal, not caring about treating me. I felt like she was judging me by asking me, "What is it you want from me?" Not a good feeling. She didn't even say when she wanted to see me again.

Dr Hamburg is really nice and puts her best foot forward. When she makes a mistake though, she doesn't accept it or even recognize it. She put me in a life and death situation and did everything to not help me. Through my begging and pleading. I learned from her that being nice or caring or genuine may mean nothing. That a specialist's words are questionable. That advocating for yourself is reprehensible.

I visited the doctor for memory loss and blood pressure, etc. She signed me up for every test known to man. Two months later, I have not received a single word from this doctor and have received only one test result. I would not go to her again. Also, she wants me to go to a psychiatrist for a memory test. I enquired about this and it turns out that the test is an oral test. This went out with the dark ages. The one I had 10 years ago was a computer generated test, what most up-to-date clinicians are using, I have discovered. Here in Vancouver we are behind the times. I certainly would not recommend this practitioner. Even if every test came back without issue, I should have received this information in a timely manner.

Very professional and spends plenty of time to answer questions and pays all of her attention in answering your question to the best of all knowledge of her ability she is defiantly a hard one to find to give the best help possible in your case

Went in for vestibular migraine because of limited insurance options. She prescribed me medication for classic migraine, and seemed to know little about vestibular migraine and the medication (upon my research) that they try for that. I thought she was very nice and personable, and obviously a caring doctor and would recommend her for more general needs, but I need someone more specialized.

Dr. Hamburg is an awesome doctor! She is highly professional and personable. Caring~I would highly recommend her. Nurse nice also along with the office staff!

My fiance is an epileptic and doctor Hamburg was able to see us immediately, his medication was sent for and we met with her the next day. She's very instructive and pushes him to be healthy, and is extremely compassionate. she's been our doctor for almost a year and my fiancee has been seizure free for 9 months. I thank my lucky stars for this doctor. I'm so glad that she cares for her job and patients equally.

Didn't seem to hear my complaints, was cold. No advice given. Appeared judgemental.
