I second the review that says she was sarcastic and unprofessional. She was that way with me as well.

Very Difficult to reach Dr Connolly after a surgery when there's complications or problems. The UNC hospital discharge papers say to contact your surgeon with any serious problems by call the UNC Urogynecology Nurse Line ph number to reach her. When you call, message says a nurse will get back to you in 2 working days. When and if they call you, the nurse is often in another city (Raleigh) and cant reach her. The patient portal is another option, but Dr Connolly does not read it; it has to go through 2 levels of nurses before she is forwarded the message. Good luck with that. If you call the UNC Urogynecology & Pelvic Floor Reconstructive Surgery appointment desk and request they give an urgent message to Dr Connolly, they say they are no longer allowed to give her messages. They might suggest you page the UNC Uryogynecology surgeon/fellow on call and when you try that, the paging clerk says they only take calls after 5 pm (and that's hit and miss depending who the fellow is).

I had surgery done by Dr Connolly and previously had seen her several years for consultations. She is one of the top surgeons, and perhaps the most experienced in her specialty, in this geographical area. Her surgical skills are outstanding! And I’m very happy with the surgery. At times she demonstrates great compassion and sincerity in our interactions. Other times she seems frustrated and irritable with a demeaning tone of voice. Puzzling. Would have given her 5 stars if not for that.
