Dr. Anna Korkis, MD

Both my husband and I have been patients of Dr.Korkis’ for close to 30 years! We were so blessed when we were referred to her not only for gastroenterology issues, but also as a primary care physician. Her knowledge in the medical field as well as her speciality is phenomenal! She explains everything, has a lovely bedside manner, and we never feel ‘rushed.’ Having had many procedures done by her, we trust her diagnostic abilities 100%. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, she recommended my oncologist and was there for me whenever I needed to talk. That was 10 years ago and I will never forget her kindness! The office staff is terrific and extremely courteous. I’ve always been able to get an appointment for an unforeseen cold, asthma issues or illness. She’s the BEST in her field and we are honored to be her patients.

Dr. Korkis was my PCP for over 15 years. Generally, she was fine but if I was sick and needed meds, I always had to go see her in person. Unfortunately, two years ago I found myself needing to see her for gastroenterology reasons. I was seeing her quite often and every single time, we had to rehash everything. I felt that some procedures were unnecessary. During this time, I was scheduled to have a hip replacement. I moved out of the area just before and she made me come all the way back to Ridgewood for an in-person appointment during which we discussed my upcoming surgery. All was good until the surgeon wanted her approval. She refused to get on the phone with me and would not give her approval. She almost cost me a long awaited surgery which ended up fine in the end. Just know she will always make you come to the office & will never speak with you on the phone. And when I had covid with some strange symptoms, she didn't call me back.

I am a patient of Dr. Anna Korkis for over 20 years. Dr. Korkis is an excellent physician who makes a point of getting to know you! She listens to all your concerns, does not rush your appointments and has guided me to healthy life style! Dr. Korkis staff is also kind and they run a very efficient office.

I went for a consultation I had my endoscopy.. went back again to go over my results then she gave me samples of this new medication. I told her it’s working great and to call in a prescription for me . She refused and said I needed to come in again to pay another copay for her to give me my prescription that I needed. The office would not put her on the phone and she never called me to see how I was doing . During the endoscopy I woke up gagging because I didn’t get enough anesthesia. All this doctor is looking for is money . She really should have called in a prescription or spoke to me on the phone I did not need to go back to pay another $50 dollars . I asked the staff for my records and they needed the drs authorization and never called me back . I ended up getting my results from the endoscopy center .

It took me a while to find a GI doctor that I felt comfortable with (I was looking for preventative care). After a few phone calls to other places, when I called Dr Korkis’ office based on many recommendations, I knew this was the practice for me. As many medical practices become corporations with third parties doing scheduling and billing, this practice is a dying breed of care. This should be the gold standard of care: you call an office, a caring person picks up and can schedule you or answer any questions. You are able to get an appointment. Then when you meet the doctor, she actually does a real evaluation, spends time with you to carefully answer any questions or concerns. Dr. Korkis is an able practitioner with many decades of experience and excellent caring bedside manners. Procedures were done seamlessly. When something questionable arises, she investigates until completely satisfied with the findings. She leaves "no stone unturned." As just one example: When I discovered via an endoscopy that I had the silent type of Celiac Disease, she was very helpful to me in explaining exactly how the disease works and how I needed to manage it. The way the information was provided put me at ease. I would recommend her to anyone in need of an excellent gastroenterologist! The office environment is always professional, friendly and courteous. Also, appointments have not been difficult to schedule.

Dr. Korkis has been my primary physician for over two decades. I have tremendous confidence in her ability to access my needs swiftly and I find that her approach is more conservative, when possible, allowing me to be more proactive and be an active partner in my pursuit of well being. She is thorough and monitors new medications closely. I am comfortable asking her questions no matter how foolish I may think my inquiry is. Appointments are scheduled in a timely manner. The staff is exceptional. They are always friendly, patient and attentive.

Dr. Korkis is a very thorough smart doctor who is a great listener. She asked questions no doctor has ever asked me. I was scheduled for a colonoscopy within a week of my initial consultation. I wish I had found Dr. Korkis sooner.
