Several instances of long waits for scheduled appointments and recently for a televisit appointment made well over a month ago- no call- I had to follow up several times and finally reached someone and was told I need to reschedule. That was more than 2 hours after my scheduled televisit. She is very good at explanations, treatment etc BUT not having a clear way to notify patients of major delays on scheduled appointments and not having someone or some way get back to patients is a MAJOR concern. I have asked the research nurse, Darcy O'Sullivan, to make a formal complain to have the policies and procedures for delays like this addressed. Patients CANNOT be left waiting by the phone for hours after scheduled apointments to finally be told (after numerous attempts to get someone). that something unexpected came up and rescheduling is needed. It is DISRESPECTFUL to patients and I am not a medical person, but, my guess is that it is not good for their helath and well being., especially when tests results indicate there may be problems. Procedures to notify patients of delay must be drastically updated.
