An Honest Evaluation of a Traumatizing Experience
Dr. Karumudi, in my opinion, is an egocentric psychiatrist with a superiority complex who believes he is infallible unless proven otherwise. He relies on the notes of staff to diagnose individuals with mental illnesses, while only visiting with them for very short periods of time throughout the day. I had little confidence in him to address my concerns in a timely fashion with the drugs I was being prescribed, including adverse side effects and allergic reaction symptoms such as tingling in the throat, itchiness in my ears, difficulty breathing, oral thrush, hyperactivity, blurry vision, and fatigue. As part of his assessment for determining when an individual is ready to be released from a voluntary or involuntary commitment, he is overly concerned that patients demonstrate calmness, and seems to not give enough attention to patients who are no longer suicidal nor homicidal, or never were at all. I would not recommend him to anyone except his coworkers whom he seems to respect more.

As long as I am taking the pills he prescribed he seems friendly. Whenever I am upset/tearful he acts like I’m annoying him. I had no choice in doctor because of my health insurance, but now I have better care and will search for a caring, respectful person.

Spends no time, does not look at previous records, poor listening, judgemental, hard to understand. Would never meet with him again.

Terrible experience. He's there to earn a paycheck and prescribe meds, nothing else. Disrespectful in every way possible and doesn't care to talk or explain anything to the patient. Pushes you out of the door as quick as he can.
