The appointment was rushed. If you go there after business building up the courage to admit your situation, you want the best reception. This doctor does not have a great bedside matter and came across cold and unsympathetic His diagnosis was different than others, obviously you get your hopes up but then they come crashing down when you realise that he was wrong. Best to avoid !

I saw Dr. Sattar for years at CMH in Lewis County. I always found him to be very human and caring. He said a couple of things over the time I knew him that I really appreciated. When I knew him I struggled with heroin addiction. He always knew I could do better for myself. I've been sober now for six years!

Dr Sattar is very negligent and does not take the time or have the experience necessary to work in mental health. My daughter was under his care as an inpatient. She has mental health diagnosis of autism, severe OCD, anxiety disorder, sensory processing disorder as well as others. He accused her of lying about having any disorders and accused us of making up diagnosis to cut her down. He ordered none of her past mental history. She was traumatized by his care and still has nightmares.

For years I was treated as bipolar. Dr Sattar thought that I was more likely ADHD. With his treatment I feel better than I ever have.

My daughter saw him 4 times at an inpatient facility. Despite multiple diagnoses over multiple years of Psychiatric care/therapy/crisis counseling, he repeatedly implied that she was lying and stated that she was definitely not bipolar. She was in the middle of a 6 month mania, during which she had a very major surgery with several months recovery; physically she was too exhausted to manifest typically. She got NO help! It took me years to get her to admit herself and she never will again now!
