Fed up with the lies.
I have had trichiasis for over 20 years. I became a patient of Dr Anita Gupta. Dr. Gupta is probably a good ophthalmologist but unfortunately corporate Mount Sinai makes it difficult for her to take care of her patients. I had a flareup and needed antibiotics and steroid drops. Her staff would not let me speak to her to get refills of my drops. They said she would not give me the drops over the phone. My eye lids became permanently swollen and look horrible. Later, I went to her for prescription refills and she refused to give them to me. She said to come back when I have another flareup. She should know that it is impossible to get an appointment right away. She tried to gaslight me that it was my fault that my lids are ruined. The bottom line is that after 20 years it took Dr Gupta’s office to ruin my eyelids. She was apologetic at first but fell comfortably into the blame game. It is the typical doctor attitude, I get hurt and now it is my fault.

Dr. Gupta is, without a doubt, one of the very best physicians out there. She displays calm confidence and demonstrates an affable understanding of my needs as a patient. Over the course of a few visits last year, she monitored an odd growth in my right eye and decided that I needed surgery. I must say that I was completely at ease knowing that she'd be performing it. 8 months later, my eye is fine and I'm grateful to have Dr. Gupta as my ophthalmologist.

After my cataract surgeries done by my previous opthalmologist of 25 years, I developed a very severe case of extremely dry eyes.It was painful and distorted my visual acuity considerably. My Dr. was unable to help me because he doesn't do/isn't trained in punctal plugs and I didn't want daily drops. Dr.Gupta patiently & skilfully fixed my problem. It took about six visits. She was very nice & twice even squeezed me in in spite of full schedule. Secretary Laura is very helpful.
