Not sure what the other person is talking about, as my experience with Dr. Velez has been nothing short of life changing (in the best way). I’ve been a patient for over five years now, and I dread the day she retires or leaves her practice because she’s helped me through so much. Even when my insurance suddenly stopped covering our visits (not at the fault of Dr. Velez), I chose to stay on as a self-pay patient, as I know how hard it can be to find a psychiatrist who you trust. I would recommend her to anyone looking for EVIDENCE BASED psychiatric medicine.

do not have her as your dr
Doesn’t care about you- only cares about $. Was told I was bipolar after 15 minutes of talking to me when I was really only suffering from depression. Will talk to you for less than half of your appointment time, often show up late, and will prescribe (if you’re lucky) 8-10 medications before you find one that works at all. She doesn’t consider the side effects of the medication either (got off one set of meds bc it was messing with my stomach and I couldn’t eat anything and the next one she tried to prescribe has serious stomach side effects as well.) save your money- find a doctor that actually cares
