8 years ago I was diagnosed with an AVM, kind of a congenital aneurysm. It was recommeded I have surgery and only being 30 at the time, I would bounce back quickly. 3 surgeries to get it done, 1 or 2 months of rehab, and 20% vision loss became a stroke, 1 month coma, 5 surgeries, 8 months phy rehab/4 years speech, and 50% loss. So much swelling a piece of scull was removed to avoid another stroke, 4 months later they go to put the piece back and somehow it had shrunk! 1 more month for a plastic scull piece which is so tight I am in CONSTANT pain sensitive to the SLIGHTEST touch. Ever had seizures? No? I do now! A walk is my top speed thanks to the stroke/my brain doesn't understand coordination. I live in Springfield, my first follow up...snow. 4 hours to get there, a few more to get a scan, a few MORE in the waiting room. Finally see her, 5 min or less. $45 co-pay and back into the snow. It was cold out that day, but not as cold as her heart.
