Dr. Andy Shen, MD

Dr. Shen is extremely patient and caring. We just started the MDVIP program a few months ago, and he was very careful to explain how everything work. He is alwsys available, and willing to help. His staff is awesome, as well.

He is a excellent listener

I was a patient with Dr. Shen before he became associated with MDVIP. I trust his knowledge and judgement and am happy with the care and attention I receive.

Scheduling us usually within 36 hours. Wait times tend to be short. Time spent talking with me is as long as I need it to be. Dr. Shen is very available, attentive, and kind. If he were to leave MDVIP I would follow him. I feel that Dr. Shen and his staff care about me individually and they care about what is going on. It is nice to know that they know about me and I don't feel like I am talking to a stranger.

Dr. Shen cares about his patients and provides excellent compassionate care. He’s very knowledgeable and kind. He listens to your concerns. Nurse Betty is amazing too.

Quick and Efficient.

Dr. Shen and Ms. Betty are awesome! I have been a patient for over 10 years, and they have always been so nice and caring. I was a bit nervous when they made the switch to MDVIP but it is worth the money. The test they are able to perform in office, since switching is time and money saving. It definitely feels like there is not a rush when you are being seen, the office has a calm feel to it. It doesn't feel like you are in an assembly line when getting treated. Dr. Shen Always listens and his bedside manner is great!

Found out thru MDVIP PHYSICAL I had Afib

Dr Shen has been my Dr for years. When I started to see him I could barely walk but with his help my diabetes is under control my weight is way down and I am doing so much better with my mobility.

Disappointment in the new MDVIP procedures! Just found out yesterday that my blood work had not been received by Dr. Shens office and that I will need to reschedule. The earliest appointment I could get was 3 weeks from the date. Just like previous times when my appointments had to be reschuled their were rescheduled for weeks later and not 'SAME DAY OR NEXT DAY' as mentioned in their document. I was to go over a CT Scan done in May and now will have to wait until the end on August because of the rescheduling. I was also to discuss pain I'm haing in my hand that I went to get an X-ray of but now that will be delayed and sure when we discuss it in the next reschuled appointment I'll have to make a separate appointment for just that to get the required shot for arthritis. In the mean time I continue to lose sleep which is really frustrating since the last helpful hint Email I got ws about getting sleep. What's worse is the 1st Email I recieved had someone elses name on the letter.

I have been a client of yours for over five years. I came to your office three weeks ago in terrible pain. I asked to see you. Your receptionist said 'No. He's booked up'. I described the pain I was going through. She said 'Go to the emergency room.' I asked 'Where's that?'. She waved her hand and said 'Over there.' She wouldn't even give me an address. I drove myself to Memorial Hermann. They checked me out and said I had a kidney stone. They took care of it.

I appreciate the information and it provides direction and motivation ! I need that today!

Yesterday I called Andy's office, spoke with Betty about a problem. I was immediately called back and a zoom type call put me face to face with Andy. The problem was discussed, the prescription called in and I had relief immediately. It doesn't get much better than Andy's MDVIP service. I came to Dr. Shen on a referral years ago. Wouldn't consider anyone else. He was impressive enough back then for a referral, and he still is today. He is relatively young but very caring and devoted. At 74 years old I am starting to develop aches and pains in joints, etc. He has yet to fail in successfully treating every one. Shoulders, knees, you name it. I would never consider using another doctor. He also happens to be connected to one of the best Medical facilities-Memorial Hermann. I have had experience with them as well. In Katy, we have the good fortune to be minutes away from one of the finest medical complexes on the planet, rivaled only by the Medical Center downtown. Glad Andy's a part ofit

The best Doctor I’ve ever had I’m almost 59 yrs. Old , He’s been my Doctor for 8 yrs. And I’m well pleased.

I am a 72 year old woman and have been seeing Dr. Shen for almost ten years, after moving from California and having been on Kaiser Permanante. From my first visit I was impressed with Dr. Shen's intuitive listening and willingness to work with me. He took me off some medications Kaiser had me on and started me on others, that have worked much better. Under his care and support I have lost 130 pounds, had a hip replacement, gotten my depression under control and improved my health overall. He understands that I prefer not to medicate as a first choice of treatment and he works with me to find solutions to chronic health problems that put me in charge. He has been straight forward about the use of surgical interventions as well. For instance, I was having problems with varicose veins. He suggested compression socks rather than vein surgery as the surgery only gives a short (2-3) year solution as compared to increased exercise and the socks. I highly recommend Dr. Shen.

Although I think Dr. Shen is a good doctor, he requires an appointment EVERY time you call including calls for refills. I had a full physical last Fall. The last appointment a month ago was a virtual call that lasted 3 minutes just for a refill, and I was charged for a regular visit. I called today because I am having problems sleeping. The assistant said that I would need ANOTHER appointment to discuss. The focus is how much money they can get out of you and your insurance company.

Best Doctor I’ve ever had. Sr Shen Always takes the time to listen and advise. Never pushy and just a great caring person and Doctor. I never write reviews but Doctor Shen deserves it.
