Do not see if you are overweight
I have had increasingly severe gerd-acid reflux for the past five years, and I went to my primary, Dr. Ulichney, four years ago seeking help. I'm an overweight male in my late 20s, with otherwise no health issues. Ulichney said that he didn't want to proscribe me any medicine until I shed some weight, so I could see if my size was contributing to the problem. This is not the first time he had attributed a health issue to my weight, but I hadn't had an issue this severe before, and I trusted him. A year later, I hadn't managed to put any of the weight off—in fact, I was five pounds heavier. Ulichney gave me the same advice, telling me to shed the pounds, even though I felt my gerd was getting progressively worse. Now, I have frequent pains in the back of my throat. I am overreliant on antacids and have developed a chronic cough. Perhaps shedding the weight would have helped and still might, but at this point, I may have developed an ulcer. If you are heavy, look elsewhere.

Pre-op Appointment
I saw Dr. Ulichney for a pre-op appt. as my regular provider was out of town. What was supposed to be a quick preop appointment for foot surgery turned into an appointment with him giving me unsolicited medical advice regarding my current medications, my weight, my exercise, and my shoes. I left there feeling a bit annoyed. It seemed presumptuous that he thought it was okay to give advice I didn’t ask for and for things that are managed with other physicians. Other than a quick glance at my medical records, he knows nothing about my medical history, what I have or haven’t addressed with my regular provider. He seems like a good doctor but didn’t seem to respect the context of my visit or ask if it was ok to address the additional items.

Dr. Ulichney is truly exceptional in every way. The amount of time he spends with each patient visit is extraordinary. His clinical expertise is held in the highest regard by contemporaries from whom I have heard several glowing reports. His reputation at Mainline Health hospitals and Chester County Hospital is stellar.

Many years ago my then wife was being attended by Dr. Ulichney and Inwas by Dr. Sabadish (sp?) both great doctors. After she left the practice I switched to him and he has been more than phenomenal. Always eager to listen to medical concerns, giving strong feedback on the steps to follow when ill, courteous and a true professional. Highly recommend without any reservations. The staff in his office very friendly and amazing.

Great Doctor, but you can't get in to see him. Had severe back pain and I got an appointment with a specialist faster than I could get in to see my primary care Dr. Call during regular office hours and you get an answering service as no one picks up the phone.
