Dr. Andrew Somberg, MD

Dr. Somberg is an incredibly talented doctor who knows what he's doing. He gave me all the time I needed during appointments and followed up with me after the surgery. I later visited him to check in again, and he was extremely reassuring and helpful. One year after my Achilles repair, I almost forgot which foot had the issue. I definitely recommend him!

Many months since surgery with Somberg and I'm still dealing with foot pain and issues walking as well as a deformity, acquired flat foot and arch issue.

After an initial leg surgery the doctor was forced to reopen my leg to try to correct a problem he caused. He then referred me to a physiatrist to try to correct the problem. I decided to go to Hospital for Special Surgery and saw 3 doctors who are trying to correct the problem that is a result of Dr Somberg's surgery. Dr. Somberg never followed up with my problem.

After surgery for a trapped superficial peroneal nerve the dr. created a hematoma. Several days later he again did surgery to excise this. The pain returned, more severe than the initial problem. He referred me to a physiatrist for a peripheral nerve stimulator. I am now going to Hospital for Special Surgery to correct the problem, as stated by HSS, he created. Other drs said a nerve stimulator is not to be used for this problem. Avoid this doctor at all costs!!

Dr. Sonberg was great. He saw me right away and spent a lot of time discussing my case. He was able to expedite my surgery and rehabilitation. I would highly recommend him.

During the past six months, I had the good fortune of being under the skilled and compassionate care of Dr. Andrew Somberg, for right and left bunion corrective surgeries. (I saw him in April, 2021 as well for a metatarsal fracture in my left foot). I found his care to be consistently precise, the entirety of each condition, procedure, coarse of treatment and recovery expectations, explained with patience and in detail, never exaggerated nor minimized. Dr. Somberg’s proficiency in his field is evident in the results achieved, truly the gift of my fully functioning and now normal looking feet; I am ecstatic to be liberated from the inability to wear shoes without significant discomfort and pain. Throughout the course of Dr. Somberg’s care, he was unrushed, focused, caring, careful, comprehensive and most considerate. His bedside manner is reassuring and calming. I could go on, suffice to say I am most appreciative of his capable, experienced and attentive treatment.

I received great care as Dr. Somberg repaired my broken femur. He was understanding, he explained carefully how the surgery would work, and he took time to answer all my questions. I found him to be very knowledgeable. The surgery and recovery has gone well under his care and I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Somberg has an amazing "bed-side" manner. He is patient with you, listens to your concerns and genuinely wants to make you better. I have been a patient of his for several years and have brought my family members to see him as well. I have used other orthopedics in the past and have not found one as wonderful as he. Even though his expertise is with the foot, he is well knowledgeable in all other orthopedic areas. Just recently he did a PRP procedure on my heel and while I had one 10 years ago with someone else I knew the high level of pain I should expect. There was almost no pain during the procedure and now 24 hours later, still just about pain free! Highly recommended!!!!

After suffering for years with a reoccurring infection and bone on bone ankle injury Dr. A Max Somberg successfully preformed an ankle fusion which gave me back a virtual pain free walk and so far after a year no sign of reoccurring infections from swelling. I was lucky to find such a GREAT and CONCERNED DOCTOR ! Thank You Dr. Somberg ! Your the BEST !

Dr Somberg was terrific. He did surgery on my husbands ankle and tendons and he healed beautifully. Dr Somberg was extremely patient and understanding. I recommend him highly!!!!

Dr.Somberg operated on my brother.He had 3 plates and 15 screws in his ankle.It was a very complicated surgery.After 9 months my brother was walking as if nothing happened. He is a highly skilled surgeon.Thank you.

There aren't enough words to fully explain what this highly-skilled surgeon did for me. He re-did a foot problem that was not fixed properly by another doctor. It was quite an ordeal; a very complicated surgery to say the least. Dr. Somberg rose to the occasion and exceeded my expectations! Dr. Somberg is an excellent surgeon and has an amazing bed side manner. My husband's surgery and recovery have been excellent and all thanks to Dr. Somberg. Appointments are never rushed and he's definitely got his patients best interests at heart. Dr. Somberg performed surgery on my foot last June, 2016, and a follow up surgery this February, 2017. He is an amazing surgeon and so professional in every way.. My foot is healing beautifully under the care of Dr. Somberg. He is quite informative and very confident with his surgical procedures. His ability to walk you through the process is admirable.. I thank Dr. Somberg for his utmost care and feel blessed that he got me through this challenging time.

My son recently fell and broke his leg. Dr. Somberg was really great with my son, making him comfortable and also put my husband and I at ease. This was our first child and this was a new and extremely stressful experience for us. Dr. Somberg was very thorough and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!!!!!

He never rushed our appointments, he answered every question, and it would not be an exaggeration to say that he is one of the most respectful doctors I have ever encountered. Initially I came to the office because I was in an emergency situation and the practice was in network with my insurance. I am so beyond grateful and now would never go to anyone else. He literally is the best doctor and took time to explain everything that was going on with my ankle. I wouldn't trust anyone else.
