Can't give zero stars...
I began my appt by being told that the test I received that he ordered six months ago was redundant, and I just wasted $1000. Apparently, I'm supposed to know when to call his office to tell them I had a similar test done two months before this appt?? He also didn't realize that I had finished my chemotherapy over a year ago. He told me I see too many doctors, and it's too confusing to go through my record. This is all after waiting for 1.5 hrs in the exam room. I will not be seeing Doctor Kates again.

Dr. Kates was through, familiar with patient’s previous history and patient in explaining tests needed. He is both professional and nice.

Dr. Kates implied that we were wasting his time. He was very short and would cut my wife off when she was trying to talk to him. He had poor bedside matter. I would not recommend him. I will be finding another cardiologist to follow up with.

The doctor took the time to call and explain the condition. He had the courtesy to answer my questions until I understood the answer. His patience in explaining helped me understand that what I thought was wrong wasn't and takes away that concern. Very few doctors will take the time to answer a patients concerns after the appointment. Steve Harris 5
