The provider was not our PCP so he was learning about me while explaining that this visit was to check up on going chronic health issues. I am also experiencing increased seizure activity so my discussion required my support person to explain a lot of what is happening. Provider had to get to know what was base line and how my newer issues are unusual and concerning. He definitely was struggling. In the end I feel he understood the Issues brought up, checked to make sure I had appointments with the Neurology dept and ordered tests I felt needed to be performed.

Extremely cursory physical. Only examination was into lungs / breathing. As a new patient to the doctor, I consider this less than cursory and completely unacceptable.

Dr. Andrew Chang listened very closely to the description of my symptoms and determined that I did not have diverticulitis; he said that I have a hernia. He contacted the UVA medical personnel to arrange for a CT scan of my abdomen so that I can have surgery for my hernia. I am waiting on the date for my CT scan and surgery.
