To busy to care
If it was not for the Dr. Berchuck's staff I would not have not had my partner treated by Dr. Berchuck. This guy has no bedside manner, he lets his PA's and Fellow's come in and give the news to the patient that their cancer has spread and there is nothing else they can do. That should be the Dr's job to do that. His PA's, NP and secretary are the only reason we stayed with him. I truly believe they came up with treatment regiments and Dr. Bercuck just signed off on them. They truly had my partners best interest at heart but not the oncologist Dr. Berchuck.

The best
I can not express how much I love this Doctor. He totally went above and beyond in my care. I had a stage 3 cancer and a surgery that was supposed too be 1 1/2 hours turned into 9 hrs. That was because my cancer was a stage 3 once we were in surgery. I was 46 years old. I have a friend that is a doctor that told me Dr Berchuck went above and beyond. I am here today at 63 because of Dr Berchuck. I can not tell you enough, he is awesome. He is very good at explaining what to expect and the most caring thing he said to me in 2006,was we would get through this. I ran into him in public and he knew exactly who I was. I will always be grateful for this Doctor. I continue to go to his office. he is the best. His staff is awesome also. They are never put out about answering questions or helping. Highly recommend him. I met many patients that traveled from all over to see him.

Dr. Berchuck provides excellent care. His expertise is beyond reproach, as an author on a myriad of research papers in gynecologic oncology. He is friendly, answers questions well and provides support when cancer patients need it the most. My surgery went so well that I barely needed any pain medication. I recovered in a very short time and feel confident that he is there if I need him. He is one of the best in the field. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Berchuk performed a laparoscopic hysterectomy on my mother and was very calm, thorough, efficient and extremely trustworthy. The wait was long, but worth it. It is understandable to have waits with surgery. I’m happy to know that perfectionists are at work. The staff was organized and they have a system in place to keep caregivers updated. Clean clean bathrooms. Overall extremely satisfied.

I am a 9 year ovarian cancer survivor. Dr. Berchuck performed my surgery March 2009. I was stage 3 ovarian cancer. Six chemo treatments. Unfortunately it came back 4 years later in my right lung. Six chemo treatments again. In is now 2018, and I'm still here. He staff is EXCELLENT. Dr. Berchuck is EXCELLENT. Duke Cancer Center is EXCELLENT. I have always received the best care from them. I totally believe I am their favorite patient. I've been seeing them for 9 years. They become your friends.

I waited 45 minutes between the nurse leaving and the doctor coming. The doctor was very patronizing and did not listen well.

Due to an ovarian cancer scare my husband and I went to Duke to have Dr. Berchuck review my case. He was thorough and made me feel confident in his ability. The setting is actually a very scary place since it is in the Surgical Onocology department at Duke Hospital. There were several women without hair and one who looked like she didn't have much time left. The volunteers who help there are awesome!!! A nurse said patients come to see Dr. Berchuck as far away as California.
