The Gold Standard of Care
This office is the gold standard -- knowledgeable, friendly, helpful staff at the front -- every time, every person. The wait time is never onerous. The nurses are efficient without rushing. And Dr. Mauer has to be one of the best doctors in the world --Literally, he has worked all over the world and you can tell he isn't just pretending to care, he really cares. He is personable and brilliant, kind and knowledgeable, thorough but listens well to what you need and want in terms of care. I recommend Dr. Mauer and this practice without hesitation. They are truly, especially in this day and age, with so much pressure on the medical industry and on the patients, a shining light.

Dr. Mauer was very patient and listened to me as I explained my concerns about my health. Exceptional service!
I came in as an emergency referral for an abnormality that was seen in an a pre op exam for surgery and had to be seen immediately. He found that there was a mistake and was quick and concise with his findings. He was reassuring, tactful, and well spoken. Made the experience quick and easy, which is everything while I’m in a couple days from surgery, in pain , and vulnerable.

Thank you, Dr. Mauer!
Dr. Andreas Mauer's talent and expertise as an interventional cardiologist resulted in my successful Trans Aortic Valve replacement Procedure (TAVR) on April 11, 2024.His skill and confidence as a cardiologist and his concern for my well-being created an atmosphere of trust helping me endure the tests and the TAVR procedure itself. Thanks to Dr. Mauer I feel like I have a new lease on life.

Caring, friendly doctor who listens
Dr. Mauer was filling in for my other doctor who was out on leave. He was patient, kind, asked good questions and listened to my concerns. Everyone at Southern California Heart Specialists is always a pleasure to interact with, from the doctors and nurses to the office staff. Highly recommend.

Great Doc
Excellent Doc, my cholesterol was high, he got me on revitan, which I had never heard of before in all the years my cholesterol has been high, so that was a revelation and useful as it brought my numbers down very fast. Nice way about him, easy to talk to and listens. No complaints here!

cookie cutter medicine at its worst
If you don't mind having a heart attack or stroke because your doctor is prescribing without thinking, this is the guy for you. He's nice... but eventually you see that right under the niceness, he's telling you how much contempt he has for you while ignoring the plain-as-day facts that he could easily cause your death by his inattentiveness.

Forever cardiologist
Outstanding Dr Mauer has taken a burden off my shoulders by offering to manage my heart. 15 years of a missed diagnosis which put me in harms way because of blood thinners I never should have taken. My first visit: no A-Fib. Surgery not necessary and blood thinner is discontinued, Today’s visit: loop monitor is going to be removed! The staff is awesome and Dr Mauer is so special. What a gift for me. Thank you Dr Mauer for your kindness and concern about my life situation.

Rude office persons maria. DIDN'T get message to doctor in emergency. My grandpa was left for hours at Huntington hospital finally dr Mauer called said he busy so do whatever they say and he will "try" to come by. He never Never came. Never return for follow up. Office refused to set up appointment appointment for us to come by by patient delivery service or 2 let us talk to the doctor. Looking back For the whole year that we went thereyou can tell the whole office is just in the scheme of money ?? hook you up to monitor or take your EEG it's just a scam that goes around from multople appointments and co pay. THEN provides pills but no real remedy and the barrier between the doctor and the patient is horrible even if it's a good doctor. Yeah and a good doctor doesn't just abandon the patient from ER when the hospitals across the street. I might be a C.P.A. only As the nurse tried to put me down however I know when things don't add up fire beware.

I was referred by my primary care physician to see Dr. Mauer. My temperature was taken and I was wearing a mask. I came in with abdominal pain. Dr Mauer refused to examine me because he has "been exposed to patients who have Covid" He told me to have a 2 1/2 stress test with a mask on! Me running on the treadmill in order for a health screening all while damaging my health. All of this took 90 minutes of my time that I will never get back.

My partner was admitted via ER at Huntington Hospital with endocarditis in Feb. Dr. Mauer was on the team of cardiologists on the case, but a dental procedure was required before they could take over. The dentist held up the surgery for several days over payment matters and by the time that was settled, Ross' condition had deteriorated so much that heart surgery was no longer possible and Ross was put on life support. There was nothing anybody could do by now, but Dr. Mauer still came by every day and he was the only one of the cardiologists who did that. I appreciated so much that he was still there when it seemed others had abandoned us; his personal concern was obvious and his involvement went above and beyond. Ross spoke highly of him before life support and that's why. He took the extra step just to be there when it got rough; that tells you about the kind of person he is. He sincerely cares and he stays with you even through the hardest parts. Ein echter Mensch.
