I'm exceptionally disgusted with Oaklawn Hospital's Psychological Services. I'm a disabled veteran in need of services and Oaklawn hospital is the closest provider that's in-network with my insurance provider. I jumped through a couple of hoops (got a referral from my PCP and submitted records to Oaklawn from my current doctor). Oaklawn all out denied my referral a new patient. They said that it was because of the medications that I'm being prescribed. I've spent the last 8 years getting these medications dialed in with my current provider. The only reason I requested to become a patient is because my current doctor isn't in-network with my insurance and I pay a ton of money out of pocket every month to be seen. I could use the VA, but choose not to because I have insurance to see private doctors. This is a travesty on the part of Oaklawn.
