Dr. Andrea Chan, MD

Dr. Chan attempted removal of a small kidney stone I had, but she 'couldn't find' the stone. In my pre-op, Dr. Chan's nurse told me that I would have a renal stent placed, which had a 30% chance of feeling 'like passing a kidney stone'. When I asked how my pain would be managed, she refused to answer my repeated questions. When I asked Dr. Chan herself immediately before I was wheeled in for the procedure, she disdainfully spat at me 'if you're really in that much pain you can just go to the emergency room'. Sure enough, I was in agony and gushing increasing amounts of blood with the stent, but received zero pain management support. Now the stone she failed to remove is much bigger and I'm terrified to get treatment in case another doctor leaves me to suffer in unbearable agony with no relief like she did. I would strongly urge patients to avoid this doc. I'd rather travel hundreds of miles for care than experience this again.

Dr. Chan has assisted my husband with urinary stones, procedures in the hospital and in her office. The last procedure was doing the euro lift which has been successful. She is very personable and careful and takes time to explain things as does her office.

Dr. Andrea Chan is an outstanding urologist. She has been treating my 90 year old mother, who is unable to urinate, for over a year. This treatment included recent surgery to place a superpubic catheter, with excellent results. Dr. Chan has helped my mother in every way to minimize discomfort and stay active and independent. She treats the whole person, not just one area of the body. She has expertly coordinated care with the G.P., the pharmacy, labs, and the hospital. Skilled, thorough, kind.
