Dr. Andre Teixeira, MD

Dr. Teixeira is very personable and pleasant, surgical procedure went well, but I have not laid eyes on him or spoken to him since the day after. My post-op care beyond a single visit a few days after surgery has been non-existent for 5.5 months. Voice mails left to schedule are not returned. Portal contact resulted in instructions to contact the dietician or join the support group. Support group sent a single virtual invite for a meeting no one else appeared for and nothing since. I have not had the anywhere near the progress routinely touted and care has been cut off. Most doctors I know actually care to see if a patient recovers after such a significant surgery--this office apparently has no problem simply throwing them away.

After considering my options, I had originally thought I was going to get VSG surgery but after talking it through with Dr. T, I reconsidered and went with the duodenal switch. On my first appt, I brought my mom but she wasn't allowed to come back to the room with me to talk to the Dr. Our plan was to FaceTime her during the appt. The Dr, upon hearing this, moved me to a different room, brought my mom in personally from the waiting room, and talked to us like we were family. After surgery, I was really struggling in the hospital with the pain. Dr. T came in, wiped my tears, blew my nose like a little kid, showed me how to better hold my stomach so that it wasn't as painful and led me on a walk around the ward. He really is an extremely kind and professional Dr with a GREAT bedside manner. I had some complications when I went home (I ended up being allergic to some medications) and Dr T called personally to tell me what to do. I've lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks and am very happy.

I saw Dr. T for revision surgery. My lap ban had slipped and was causing a lot of problems for me. Dr. T was extremely patient with me answering any questions and concerns. Before you go into pre-op the educators sit with you and explain everything you should expect before, during and after surgery. This minimizes anxiety and gives you a clear understanding what will happen and when. It is very detailed. Be prepared to spend a few hours for education and repeat pre-op testing. Minimal pain after surgery and any pain was anticipated and taken care of. Dr. T checked on me in the hospital and it was like a caring friend walking in the door. Doctor and staff follow up as would be expected. I would def recommend this doctor! 32 lbs in 3 months and counting!!

Best surgeon!

I was very compliant yet had failed VSG surgery and the doctor and staff did not return my calls. very unhappy with this surgery and this doctor! over 3 months out, total weight loss was 11 pounds...I was NOT cheating. I think he rushed me through and did not do a good enough job! such a waste! and I feel worse now after surgery! Think twice before considering this surgery.

Highly recommend! Dr. T is very smart, fun and has a great personality. He is very skilled in the weight loss procedures. His office is friendly and yes they SMILE and encourage you! Getting the sleeve was the BEST decision I made and using Dr. T was the second best decision! I am 61 years old and was fat for way too long!!! Call today! It will change your life!

I had the sleeve done by Dr T 4/10/17 at Orlando health. I just want to say the entire process was flawless for me. His staff worked with my insurance to get approval. They explained the whole procedure & process to me. It was 6 months of tests and diets and documentation. They even set me up on a payment plan. surgery was performed at ORMC and I couldn't ask for a better experience. Everyone there was great from prep to discharge. I'm 4.5 months out and lost 74 lbs. 26 to go!

I was hesitant about committing to bariatric surgery, but a friend had had her surgery with Dr. Teixeira and was ecstatic with her results. Because of her recommendation, I decided to have a gastric sleeve and I'm so very happy that I did. I haven't had any pains nor complications. The doctor is very professional and amiable. I regret not having done the surgery sooner, but thanks to the surgery, I'm more energetic and a lot happier. Thanks Doc, Susan

After to many ways to loose some pounds for health reasons(diabetic,high blood pressure,arthritis, over weight).My pcp told me about this surgery and send me to Dr.Texeira.After talking to him and he explain to me the pro and con about the sleeve surgery.I decide to do it.This was the best dec-ition.After the surgery,I lost over 45 pound in two months and no need more insulin.I feel much better now.Him and his staff was very nice to me all the time.I will recommend him one hundred percent.

I have tried repeatedly to get in touch with this office as I was referred here by an oncologist. No one will return my calls and finally days later I get an email, they used the wrong name for me and basically do not care what an urgent situation I'm in (I haven't been able to keep solid food down in 5 weeks). its been a very frustrating situation and I'm going to definitely try a different doctor now.

He seems to really care about his patients outcome. Keeps you on the program. I am glad I decided to go to Dr. Teixeira for my surgery.

Dr. Teixeira has got to be the best physician I've ever gone to. I had gastric sleeve surgery WITH major complications. I would have never made it through all of what I went through had it not been for him. He is extremely knowledgeable, kind and genuinely caring of the patients needs. I was an exception to the rule as far as having complications, but thanks to Dr. T., I made it through and have lost 50 lbs in the last 3-4 months. He is also the ONLY doctor that I actually enjoy going to see.
