Dismissive Doctor
I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Dr. Aljammal. Despite seeking medical assistance for concerning symptoms, he dismissed my concerns in less than five minutes, attributing my emotions to my menstrual cycle. Shockingly, his diagnosis was not only callous but also incorrect. Subsequent care revealed I had a concussion, a serious condition overlooked by Dr. Aljammal. His bedside manner was abysmal, leaving me feeling unheard and neglected. While I've had positive experiences with other doctors at Optum, I strongly advise against seeing Dr. Aljammal. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen him and this moment is one I have not stopped thinking about, so I decided to post this review late. I am sure he will reply trying to gaslight this experience, however, this is the truth. Patients deserve compassionate and competent care, qualities he sorely lacks.

Didn't really listen to my issue. Was set on plan regardless of my input. Renewed medications that didn't need renewal/prescription.

The Dr knew exactly what I had, he also knew I wouldn't benefit from certain medications at this point. The medication prescribed was a lower dose that I could take more if needed and if I felt worse to come back and we would investigate further.

My girlfriend who is an Emergency Medicine Physician accompanied me to the appointment as I was quite sick from a Crohn's disease flair and wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. We did not inform the doctor that she is also a medical doctor. She stated in no uncertain terms after the visit that she has NEVER seen another doctor treat a patient so poorly before, including colleagues that have been dismissed for inappropriate patient interactions. She was 100% certain that he did consult my chart at all, and felt that he failed to meet the standard of care, and that his behavior was completely unacceptable when handling a patient with autism. He clearly just wanted to leave for the day as I was likely his last patient, and he became incredibly rude when it became clear that he wouldn't be able to rush me out. He asked no questions when I, his patient with Crohn's disease told him that I had been having severe diarrhea for several days. Instead he just ignored this and gaslit me by saying he disagreed with my prescription's being composed of different dosages because the required dosage is not available as a single pill, berating me in a hostile manner about the decision to prescribe this way until he realized that Dr. Howard K. Bland was the prescribing physician. He specifically voiced annoyance that I had booked an appointment with him, and said I should go back to seeing my regular provider. It seemed like his only goal was to get me out of there as fast as possible so he could go home. I've now been left without medication, as he did not actually send in the prescriptions to the pharmacy even though he said he did... This was by far the worst I have ever been treated by ANY medical professional in my life. His behavior was not that of a stern doctor, it was simply that of a rude person who was annoyed that he had to work, and felt like being petty about it and taking it out on me. I wanted to cry after the visit with him. His behavior was degrading, unprofessional, and unacceptable.

The visit itself was fine but follow up was not satisfactory. The lab results were mailed. In this world of technology, there are much faster & more efficient communication tools (phone, text, email, patient portals, etc.).
