Dr Amy Murrell is a very skilled and caring doctor. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a surgeon. She has been an important part of my medical team since I was diagnosed with cancer a little over two years ago. She and her entire staff have been not only highly skilled, but kind and compassionate as well. Thank you Dr Murrell!!

My Experience
From my very first consult, I knew I'd found the surgeon that was right for me. The entire staff made me feel very cared for. Dr. Murrell explained everything in detail, gave me options. I had researched her as well as my condition, her recommended treatment matched exactly what was recommended by NIH. I like to know what to expect, she was very upfront with that. I was in great hands.

My mother had major surgery a week ago. Murrell wasnt her surgeon, however she was the dr on call when my mother was brought in by ambulance screaming in pain. For 2 days she has let her sit screaming like this, the only intervention was an abdominal X-ray. Telling my mom that it was just pain from surgery, and she would have to give it time. When I tried to explain that she had not been like this, her pain had been under control, but now a week later she was doubled over for 2 days screaming in pain and to please do something else to figure out what was wrong with her, Dr. Murrell walked up to me and yelled “what is it that you want me to do?” I said, “I want you to help her! Figure out what is wrong with her!” She asked, “and just what is it that you think I should be doing? You want a cat scan? Is that what you want?” I said yes. She turned to the nurse and yelled, “order her a cat scan. Fill her up with radiation. I don’t care. I can’t take this!” She flung the door open and left.

This doctor was ALWAYS too busy to get back to us / with "other" patients. After an acute pancreatic attack, my husband was pushed to have gallbladder removal surgery. This "may" have been right, but I feel they did it too early as they had to make two extra large cuts as the swelling had not gone down (they could have just waited). Afterwards, she ordered a CT scan but would not give us input as to whether there was necrosis. This is very atypical and makes us question why she can't be bothered
