She is a pretty conservative neurologist. Sometimes, I think she doesn't understand my migraine pain. If I recommend a medication that works, especially a pain medication, she will not prescribe it. If I am in so much pain that I cannot tolerate it, the only place I can get pain relief is at the hospital ER. Hopefully, one day we will get a good combination of medications and lifestyle changes, like stress reduction, to help me function normally again.

Love Dr Mellor
She is very willing to come up with new ideas to help alleviate Pain She tried certain brand injections on me I can’t begin to give the importance of trying that on my neck pain and symptoms.

Helpful and Thorough
It's been a few years -- she is relatively patient, and on time. She is cooperative and helpful when discussing various medications and how to take them -- couldn't have asked for a more helpful or thorough doctor. Incontrast to other reviews, I am not looking foo a new best friend -- Alzheimer's is challenging enough, so directness and less chit-chat is what we are looking for.

Do not go to this Dr. You have been warned!
1) Both receptionist and Doctor have no personality. Receptionist stepped in front of my wife and said, "you can't go in with him, patients only". 2)When I asked any questions, the majority of answers given by the doctor are short repetitive answers; example "talk to your family doctor, I am just doing the test" 3) Doctor did a painful test, the area wasn't supposed to bleed and never even put a band aid on an area where it was bleeding. 4)

Front desk girl was rude. Dr. Mellor did a nerve conduction test on my right arm. I have had this test done on both arms in the past. They were uncomfortable but not painful. The test Dr. Mellor did was very painful. My entire arm jerked. Not just my fingers. I told her before we started to be careful with my shoulder because it was painful to the touch. I was waiting for surgery for 2 tendon tears. During the entire procedure she was silent. She abruptly pushed on my shoulder and made me cry from the pain. She just silently continued with her work. After she was done, she just stood back in silence with her arms crossed and watched me struggle to get up. She never said a word or offered help like every other doctor I have been to. I finally had to roll onto my injured shoulder which made me start crying again from the pain. I left her office in tears, while her and her staff watched in silence.

It was a littke bit of a wait to get in to see her for my first visit. But well worth the wait. Dr Mellor took the time to listen to hear what I saying about my health issues and what worked for me in the past. She didnt try to push anything on me I didnt want. She did what worked for ME. I cant say enough to how much that itself means to me. Thank you Dr Mellor for your kindness and for caring for your patients like you do... ? I truly appreciate you and your staff.

I moved not long ago from Cleveland, OH where medical care is one thing that the city's reputation is built on and was very worried about finding a good neurologist in a not so populated part of our state. I am very happy with Dr Mellor and to be in her care. It was a big relief for me to find such a good neurologist in small town Florida. I hope you never need a neurologist, but if you do, you can be certain that if you come to Dr Mellor that you will be well tended to buy a first rate physician.

Absolutely the worst, most unhelpful staff in the front office I have EVER experienced. They continually refused to admit they received my records via FAX. So I brought 2 confirmations in of successful transmission of fax. The receptionist was rude and extremely unhelpful. Even though my leg was in incredible pain and the muscle is atrophying more and more each day, they wouldn’t try to fit me in earlier than 2 months. AVOID THIS DOCTOR!!!

I had a Telehealth appt with Dr Mellor about wide ranging neurological symptoms from COVID-19 infection. She almost never even looked at me on the screen, as she spent the entire appt typing in my past (old and irrelevant) health history so she’d be done with me when the appointment was over. She seemed totally disinterested, didn’t ask questions, and offered NO diagnosis or recommendations for treatment. She was detached and lacking in any empathy. When I got the email summary of our visit, there was a long summary of my three year health history, and the ONLY reference to our Telehealth visit was ONE WORD: “Headaches”. Despite the fact that I’d detailed numerous other symptoms. Dr Mellor’s service was so extremely unprofessional and deficient that I don’t think she should be licensed to practice neurology. She should find another line of work that suits her detached, abrasive personality, like bill collecting!

I waited seven months for my first appointment after moving across country. Looking for anyway to ease my suffering (one of which is poor memory). I was received by one very angry woman at the counter as I was unable to get the paperwork completed before I got there. To combat this issue my husband had typed up all information that was needed and I arrived a half an hour before my appointment. This angry staffer was not gonna let me see the doctor. Needless to say, this made me quite upset and instead of giving up and walking away defeated, I became angry and raised my voice right before I began to cry. Did this affect Miss Mellor’s attitude in towards helping me????????? When I did see Amy, (10 min face time, literally) she had the warmth of a dead fish in a wet paper bag. She checked my reflexes and strength in my arms and legs then proceeded to tell me she could not help me and I need to see a rheumatologist. Left that office in total defeat crying a river!
