Dr. Amy Carter, MD

Dr. Carter has been my family doctor since I was a kid. She’s always seemed to provide good care to me and my family, but as an adult, I’ve noticed that she’s quite dismissive and tends to speak over and abruptly cut me off rather than allowing me to finish stating my medical concerns. She rushes through our visits, and I always leave feeling like I never got to say all that I meant to say or that a concern I brought up had been left unaddressed. During a recent visit, she mentioned a specific food that she believed I needed to eat more of. When I expressed that my body doesn’t react well to that specific food and that a food sensitivity test I recently had done confirmed that fact, she arrogantly stated, “that makes no sense.” As I began to explain what happens to my body when I eat that food, she laughed in my face and walked out of the room laughing before I could even finish my sentence. She didn’t come back. I was shocked. Needless to say, I’m finding a new doctor next week.

I've been going to Dr. Carter for several years. She is always thorough and I trust her judgement. I believe she wants the best for her patients.
