Dr. Amparo Gutierrez, MD

Spent less than 5 minutes talking AT me--never asked about my symptoms or medical history, disregarded the opinion of her resident (who actually performed neurological tests and spoke to me at length about my 20 year history of symptoms) and concluded my 3 MRIs showing demyelination in multiple areas were 'insignificant' because I have no oglioclonal bands. Evidently she's never heard of the 2021 MacDonald diagnostic criteria. Also does not thank neurological diseases cause pain...Rigid uncaring, dismissive, arrogant, out of touch with current research and standards, all after making me wait for months while delaying spine surgery...Run, don't walk, away from this horrible doctor.

Been a patient of Dr. G’s since I was diagnosed with MS 4 years ago. I have generally been pleased with visits and treatment. I received a call this past November and a message saying Dr. G had to reschedule my November appointment because she was going to be out of town (vacation I believe). I was told I would get a call to reschedule. I never received a call and called the office only to be told that the soonest I could be seen was in September of 2025 or almost two years since my last appointment. Not sure what the issue is, but I can’t recommend a Dr that is this busy that patients have to literally wait years to be seen. I am searching for a new Dr.

Dr. Amparo Gutierrez who has taken over for Dr. Steven Rosenberg (retired), time after time has demonstrated uncaring, demeaning, inattentive, and lacking all bedside manners. Since Dr. G's has arrived never once has she listened to my concerns or questions. Dr. G is supposed to help people with MS however she continuously gives a dismal outlook, makes you feel like we did something wrong, and has condescending responses to those in her care. Dr. G consistently disregards any attempts at discussion and discredits explanations of your symptoms. This behavior with Dr G should have been addressed sooner instead of allowing the lack of open and honest communication which is paramount in achieving optimal health outcomes. The attitude in the office unfortunately has changed and the only thing positive about that office is her nurse practitioner Andreina Neall who seems willing to help and listen. Hospital surveys directly linked to a patient are useless because of the fear of repercussions.

My husband and I drove 40 minutes to be met with coldness and condescension. Dr. Gutierrez was completely dismissive and nonchalant. She did not take the time to even explain the life altering medications she was seeking to put me on. Completely awful experience.

STAY AWAY FROM AMPARO GUTIERREZ. Amparo does not deserve the title of doctor. She was narcissistic, arrogant, demeaning and uneducated. She told me everything was in my head and caused by extreme anxiety. She never looked at my files. I live with chronic genetic conditions and have multiple specialists who oversee my care. I am blessed to have doctors who believed in me, listened to me and became part of my health care team. Amparo is not one of those doctors. She did not even get inside the room before she started with sarcastic remarks ending with everything was in my head and I was not diagnosed with anything but anxiety. She left by throwing a piece of paper at her checkout staff member while making reference to my referral. I did not deserve the treatment she gave to me, but even more so, her staff did not deserve the treatment she gave to them. I had the ability to tell Amparo her behavior was disheartening to say the least and I was ending my appointment with her.
