I went to doctor Whitfield in Madison for several years. She made adjustments to my meds and sent me for tests. I had some issues with Metformin and she did find another drug for me. My issues have been kept in check. She is very nice. She would always be reading charts and listened. I was not happy when I had to see another doctor who was not very pleasant. Doctors have flaws just like all of us but Dr. whitfield tried to explain things. I may have to drive to Cullman.

Dr. Whitfield is a very nice doctor. Was sad to hear she had moved from Madison to Cullman (lucky for Cullman). She really does listen and care for her patients.

Dr. Whitfield is a god send she is truly one of the most caring people i've seen, she is always interested in what is going in my life that may affect my health. I truly believe that anyone that has had a problem with her may need to take a look at themselves, because it may be them and not her.

My family will no longer go here. My husband was ONE minute late to an appointment with our three year old son in tow on a rainy day. They canceled his appointment and removed him as a patient when he questioned them. There was no one in the waiting room. This is the most absurd and antiquated way to run a practice and there are too many good doctors out there to put up with this.

We gave her a chance after reading other poor reviews only because of location. Sorry we did. Dr. Whitfield missed several cancer markers in my wife's blood tests. Delayed my wife's DNC ordering unnecessary heart tests. Cancer was found 6 months later than it should have been. NEVER go to this doctor. Office staff loses records. TERRIBLE.

Dr. Whitfield is a wonderful doctor. She listens and takes her time with her patients. She wants to find out what is causing the problem. Her staff is great too. I am so thankful to find a doctor like her. My husband and parents also go to her.

After seeing several different primary care physicians Dr. Whitfield was the first doctor to really listen to me. She has gotten me through a tough time medically, she continues to listen, get the referrals I need. As far as Amy, you can't asked for a more sweet caring person. Amy is on top of everything, running the front office on her own.

Like many of the other reviews I would NOT recommend this would be doctor to my worst enemy. Her receptionist, Amy, is rude, condescending and holier than thou, and doesn't return calls. Whitfield herself seems caring at first until she actually is asked to do something like sending a referral or a prescription refill. There are many other doctors in our area and I urge you to do like me and just keep looking. These people don't value your time and charge outrageous prices for a 5 minute visit.

I was stuck with Dr Whitfield when my primary care physician retired and she took over his practice. She would not write a rx refill for a medication i had taken for 4 years. She wrote refills for my husband's meds for over a year, THEN, refused to refill (she had already done so for 12 months) an antidepressant he had been taken for 25 years !! Forced him to quit COLD TURKEY with NO HELP. He is still suffering from severe withdrawals, however she says she can't help.

Quite literally, the only Dr I've had in Alabama that I didn't walk away hating. She listens and explains the therapy. No God complex here, just a great Dr. I'd highly recommend.

She doesn't seem to be in any hurry to help people. After arriving for my appointment 15 minutes early, a nurse called me back and took my vitals. Then she walked me to an exam room and told me that Dr. Whitfield would only be a few minutes. After waiting an hour and a half, I finally had enough and walked out. Stepping out of the exam room, I saw the same nurse at her station talking to Dr. Whitfield. They both looked at me like, oh, we forgot you were here. Do not go to this woman.
