Supportive and Kind
I have been seeing Dr. Kossak for a few years now and she has always been kind and supportive of anything I need. Any kind of concern I bring up whether it is mental or physical she asks questions and helps me find a solution even if that means going to someone else for help, like therapy. I would highly recommend her!

Collected urine sample without telling me why, my mistake for trusting her. I was positive for cannibinoids and she refused to refill my SSRI that I’ve been on for 13 plus years, never once have I been drug tested. This should have been explained to me why and that was happening in my opinion. I was already on the fence about her but I’ll be looking for a new doctor.

Concerned patient
Could not get an appointment for acute illness with partner in this group. Dr Kossak was rude, did not listen & extremely dismissive of my daughter’s health. Would not recommend her to anyone.

She is my current PCP however I am looking for a new one. She doesn’t really listen to my concerns about not wanting to be on medication that I don’t need to be on. Because I have severe anxiety when I see a doctor my blood pressure is high but I do monitor it at home and it always normal. Because she felt I did have high blood pressure despite me saying it’s monitored at home and is normal she still placed me on a low dose of medication. When I went back to her the second time for a check up it was high again bc of my anxiety and she placed me on a higher dose even though I said again it’s fine at home. The third time I went to see her bc it still wasn’t as low as she wanted even though by that time I expressed yet again that I get anxiety at the doctors she wanted to place me on an additional medication to add to the one she gave me. And this third time they had me sit to relax 3 times to see if it would go down and it did go way down she still added the other medication. I then went back to her one last time for a check up after I was supposed to be taking the new medication with my current one but I had not been taking because I didn’t need it. I saw a nurse for that check up and I pre-warned the nurse and as usual it was high but each time they had me sit and relax it was lower and lower it was normal by then and the nurse went back and talked to the doctor and told her I had not been taking the additional medication because I didn’t feel the need nor did I feel it was safe. I did not feel comfortable taking it. The nurse told me the doctor still wants me to take it. I left still did not take it. I lost and gained new insurance so when I was supposed to go see her I had none. I had no insurance for a year and I also stopped taking my original medication too. My blood pressure has been fine. I feel like I was over prescribed because my blood pressure isn’t what they consider normal. At home my blood pressure is 130 over 90 which they would consider high but Thedacare is known for pushing medication. I would not recommend her or Thedacare.

lack of concern for patients
I saw Dr. Kossak for severe insomnia, and labs were not ordered at the first appointment that I thought would be beneficial. She required a second appointment before prescribing medication, requiring me to go several more weeks with severe insomnia, even with medication being discussed at the first appointment. I was 7 minutes late to the second appointment and she refused to see me. She showed lack of concern for my health, I do not recommender her.

Not recommended for medication management
After I saw her video, I was excited to meet with a provider that I thought would be open-minded and would work with me on some adjustments to medications I've been on for years. I expressed my concerns during our first appointment, and I agreed to get off a narcotic medication that she was not comfortable prescribing. When it came to managing my ADHD medication (which I've been compliant with for 13 years), I was treated as a drug-seeker when it came time to request a refill. My concerns of running out and going through withdrawal were ignored, and when I expressed frustration, she finally responded and told me that she would no longer manage my ADHD medication. She was cold and ignorant, and she never acknowledged my concerns during the many messages that were exchanged. I wonder if this is a new tactic that physicians are using to avoid the hassle of prescribing certain medications. Very disappointed to find out the hard way that she is not who she portrays herself to be.
